I no longer yearn for a faster/bigger/flasher motor and am quite happy with my motoring lot, but found myself configuring a Jag XJR and this is what it looks like http://rules.config.jaguar.com/jdx/en_gb/cj_jscwl0... I want it very much.
So it's the XJR 'Dark Black with extra black' edition?

I'd hate to get into that when it's been sitting in the 30' Sunshine all day. Thing would be like an oven inside.
You can't have too much black on a car, I rightly deleted all of the chrome

I already have a black car and it's not that bad when the weather is hot

Nice car but £100k nice?
Give it a year or two and the ferocious depreciation big Jags suffer from should make it a lot more attractive.
I don't have £100k to spend on a car, but when I do I'll not give a monkeys about depreciation

Having driven this around for the last two weeks I'm tempted to look at a V8 as a replacement for my 6.

mp3manager: Can you explain the appeal to me? Not having a go... I just don't "get it", but loads of people seem to like them and I'd like some insight from someone who does. Can you explain?

Just went and watched that. Very good! I have something of a vested interest as my dad has an Alpina Green B3 Touring in manufacture at the moment. It's due to be delivered in March. Very similar to this little beauty:

My current obsession is the 997.1 Turbo. Went to have a look at this example a couple of weekends ago. It's deeply tempting. Will see how stupid I'm feeling after Christmas.

Your dad's a lucky man, the touring does look very good.

I take it that 997 is at Yorkshire Classic Porsche. They had a really nice looking 997.1 Carrera S in grey a few months ago but it had sold before I'd managed to sell my 335 so I never got chance to go and have a look around.

I have read the turning circle is pretty awful though? Might not be suited to my ultra-tight 1950's work car park
