A 1.7TD has come up cheap and I'm wondering if a set of 1.9 injectors, bigger turbo and intercooler would make the Diesel as quick as the GTII? If I can get it cheap enough I feel an experiment could be in order.

Half the work is done already. Just need to put the 1.6 Pinto in the nearest skip (where Ford should have put it) and fit a V8.

...Sierra shaped and looks like an XR4i nose. The later ones look a bit pap to me but it could be more fun as a homage to a South Africa spec' XR8

I really like them and the D3s are starting to come down in price nicely now.However, the D2 is now borked just as expensively, and I'm beginning to think about a G4 spec D3...
Expect bigger bills than you'd get with a D2 though! Compressors seem to let go and the cambelt is a big job to change.
