Hold on there the old E34 525iX was one of the best cars BMW made (okay one of the best BMW's I've owned) and the new 320iX is bigger, heavier, slower, poorly built and looks crap. This 225i X-Drive is supposed to be a Freelander with no suspension but it could be good as a car.

Back to the FTO, turns out it din't need a clutch but a gearbox centre bearing and seal as well as a clutch slave cylinder and no doubt clutch where gearbox oil and clutch fluid may have ruined the friction plate. So instead of buying the parts and rebuilding the gearbox myself (£150) or getting reconditioned box (£400+) I have bought another FTO with a reconditioned box for £350. Man maths rule. wink

After driving the old mans XJR-S this weekend, I keep thinking I need a Jaguar in my life. I'm not normally a fan of silver cars with black interiors (especially on cars like Jaguars, I think they should all be blue or green with cream leather!), but this looks really sharp. V6 engine promises decent economy on longer runs, but isn't too slow either. Would be a nice companion alongside the MINI when the Range Rover is sold.

83k miles, all for under £5k! Minus Alpine HiFi and heated seats though grumpy

I was reading a Jaguar World magazine on holiday, I've come back now wanting an X350 XJ6 too. My dad had Jag's when I was little and now feel like I need a Jag in my life too.

As you say they are ridiculous amount of car for the money with reasonable economy to boot.

I used to have a Del Sol. Always fancied dropping a more purposeful V-Tec in there.

Just collected this...

...sold needing a clutch but from the feel of it the secondary shaft bearings have play so a new gearbox instead.
I used to be obsessed with these as a kid when they first started coming into the country and then they were on Gran Turismo.

Still one of the most attractive little coupes around.

It was cheaper to buy a parts donor than rebuild the gearbox...

...I prefer the original GR bumper to the GPX one as well. wink

Thete are a few of those running the 2.5V6TT engine from the Galant/Legnum VR4. 280-300 bhp in a small coupe, nifty!

Grinnall Scorpion 3.

I can't believe how fast you can be for how little cash. OK, so it's not a Volvo XC90 in the safety stakes but for what it is, it's well conceived and cracking value. I'm astonished they're not more numerous/popular.

If the above Polaris Slingshot were possible to bring to Europe, that'd be fascinating too.
I agree here mate had one enjoyed it so much bought a Morgan 3 Wheeler soooo much fun

I like the one running a silly spec' Evo lump...

...besides I'd have to break a "Yo-Momma!" to do the 2.5 transplant.

A blue XFR for sale near me, tried so hard to justify the leap from the economy of the 2.7 to the 5.0 to go and even view it, but it's not working yet. Need the specialist man maths skills of wise PHers!

Silly power! There are plenty of spare engines and parts from cars being broken over on CVR4, have a look...

Hi, yes it is kyanite blue, absolutely stunning! I'm hoping that the mileage we cover calms down over the next few months as I can then attempt to persuade SWMBO that V8 is the only way forward!

No, it's a 2003 one owner car with 90k but full Jag history and a wedge of invoices from the dealer with eyewatering 4 figure totals at the bottom.

A shade over £4k - XJ6s seem great value at the moment.

From what I've read that one was rough around the edges, trader came onto the owners club forum to berate someone for talking down about that particular car and then claimed it was sold. Clearly not the case if the ad is still up! If you really want to be frivolous import a clean one from Japan biggrin

Kyanite is a cracking colour, pre facelifts seem to be depreciating nicely. Would be rude not to!
