So what car have you been obsessing about today?? (Vol 2)

Infiniti Q50S hybrid awd.
Is it wrong to be contemplating one of these over a euro box rep mobile?
Looking at S4s and thinking they're dull.
They're not well reviewed. That's not just from a British viewpoint either, US long term tests weren't kind to it. I think the potted summary is "fast but not fun".
What's curious is that when it comes to review of some cars, journalists of some countries have different preferences. Compare US reviews of the Mazdaspeed 3 with British reviews of the Mazda 3 MPS, for example. I'll leave it to observers to comment whether that's a true reflection of journalists' preferences or marketing pressure from people who place adverts, but my point is this: the Q50S AWD hybrid is universally poorly thought of no matter which country's viewpoint you take.
While a lot slower, I'm increasingly curious about these:
It's a much better resolved car if hybrid's your bag. It won't set the world on fire but it's a much nicer place to be than a Prius, and I'm contemplating whether one would work as a daily driver. Blearyeyedgirl is due our first baby later in the year and I'm considering whether this will work as a decent all rounder (rather than just for fun purposes- I don't think I'd list a Lexus IS in my Top 100 Fun Cars but there's some amusement to be had.).
Blearyeyedgirl is also wondering about keeping a Mk1 MX5 in our garage as a toy. I knew I married the right woman!

Decided not to bid on it on eBay and it ended with no bids ... Still tempted to email them and make them an offer lolI may be looking for a new job soon so a bright yellow Fiat Bravo, lime green Fiat Panda or my blood red Fiat Coupe may not make a positive first impression so I'm thinking about grown up, sensible stuff like with a budget between £1,000 and £1,500
There's a nice black Fiat Bravo t-jet 150 up the road for £1,495 (I'd offer £1,300) that ticks all the boxes but just took an £800 Z3 for a test drive.
