remind me what sort of rear suspension that 1k bhp goes through?
As far as I understand a custom eibach fully independent rear suspension. Also a Boss Mustang gives an M3 a run for it's money with a solid rear axle.
Same old tired crap coming from people who haven't got a clue- google is your friend or try driving one and tell us what you think.

Answer what question old boy? Thought I had already.

Which German car do you mean and what rear suspension does it have?
You didn't.But I will again, just for you old fruit. Correct me if I am wrong (and I know you will!!) but it has a live rear axle? Feel free to shoot me down in flames....As for German car, I didn't specify as I wasn't refering to a specific car. Question answered for you or not? (I await the anticipated onslaught.....sigh....)
I was sure. You slagged it's rear suspension off for being outdated and said that a German car would have better rear suspension.
Now you say you don't know which German car you are on about nor do you know what sort of rear suspension said imaginary car would have.
Does this sound fair?

Hmmmmmmm. Ok I didn't 'slag' anything off. I merely suggested that a live rear axle is a little outdated (which is hardly the most slanderous thing ever uttered, is it?) I also didn't say anything of the sort about a specific German car having 'better' suspension. What I said was that I would prefer something a little more nimble that could perhaps handle corners as well as straights. However, you are welcome to infer whatever you like from what I said. I did also make very clear that everyone is entitled to like whatever they want and that there are many PHers who like these things is a bonus. But not for me. Now you say you don't know which German car you are on about nor do you know what sort of rear suspension said imaginary car would have.

Now, have a nice cup of tea or something, and relax because you seem mightly het up about something ever so trivial.

Compared to most other modern cars?
I'm guessing that one's at me. So yes. Yes I do believe so.For example:
Mondeo: Length - 4844mm. Width - 2078mm
A4: Length - 4703mm. Width - 2006mm
3-Series - 4624mm. Width - 2031mm
So, whilst the differences in width are mainly negligible, there is a difference there. And, for me, the Kinetic design language amplifies that into a sizeable visual bulk.
Having driven a Mondeo back to back with a 3-Series, it certainly feels the bigger of the two. The new Fusion feels even bigger - Ford's 'Global Car' is sort of like Baseball's World series.
Anyway, I appear to have gone on a complete tangent. So...Mustangs. Very nice

why do fans of Americana get soooooo touchy when you dare to have a differing opinion.
.......because you were talking bks inferring the car in question had an archaic suspension system, which it doesn't. Not that it makes much difference anyway.I'm a fan of cars, not 'Americana' exclusively.

Oh good grief! Would I be wrong in suggesting a live rear axle isn't particularly modern? No offense was intended, that you have taken offense is your choice entirely.
I haven't taken offence.I've stated plainly that the car doesn't have a live rear axle numerous times now but you seem incapable of comprehending it.

Hurrah, congratulations, your perserveance has paid off, I now know these particular cars don't have a live rear axle (I guess that is where some of the frankly ridiculous $200k has been spent on). As I have stated all along, each to their own. Enjoy. As I stated, the standard 4.6 I drove was a honking pile...but I guess this must be different...to some people.
I don't care about your ignorance, I just didn't want other people to be misinformed by people who talk bks like you. Edited by AdamPT on Thursday 5th April 16:12
