I suspect that beemer is more at home on the motorway now, rather than having fun on twisty country roads. But if that was the aim it may not be ideal. All the chipped RS6 littering the roads will leave it behind in those situations. So it may be stuck in no mans land now. Each to their own.

Thats a lovely thing, and looks well executed from the pictures at least...but yeah, my £25k would go elsewhere.

One of the rarest and most sonorous engine configurations in a short, pointy body, and it's a bad thing?

Who cares if it's not the fastest thing out there? (Although it'll be fairly ridiculous at 300+ bhp/ton.) If you wanted to be a straight-line hero then a modified Evo with antilag and launch control would be a short hop away. Or a bike of course.

I didn't say it was bad. I am sure the engine on its own is amazing. But surely one major point of owning an M3 is to have a car which turns into corners well so you can have some steering fun? Not that an M3 is the ultimate, but at least it is a good all rounder and well noted for being a better steer than alternative German compact barges. If the steering and handling is not a priority, then a tuned 750bhp RS6 would offer more motorway bragging rights. Thats all I'm saying.

Going by that logic, best off to get a 318i, don't want a heavy straight 6 messing up that knife edge handling a 3 series is famous for.

I personally think it's an awesome car, would love to build one myself.

It's about a 3% weight distribution forward (90kg between the S52 and S85) assuming the weight is entirely on the front axle (no moving the gearbox back/shortening the prop etc).

Not exactly catastrophic, and I'm sure you could corner-weight it back a bit closer to 50/50 if you fitted coilovers.

Registration plate check says W33 JYY is a 2.0, so not a V6.

25K seems a bit much, but it looks very well executed.
The other option is this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262597468172

700 bhp turbo charged e46 m3.

I think I'd accept the "mere" 500hp of the V10 just for the noise and unique character of the thing!

Its very nice, but the carbon panels make it look like its been in a front end crash and the owner has fitted new unpainted panels.

Unpainted carbon looks terrible. However their owners usually want to show the world they just spent a few quid I guess.

Yep. Could work with the bonnet, but not the wings.

Nice car though.

Exposed CF only really works on a black/very dark grey car, otherwise it is just showing off.
