Time to open up a gargantuan can of worms here...

Someone mentioned a lot earlier in the thread that while to some of you, eat your dinner off it mint cars are the only way of modifying them, others look for character.

I've yet to find more character in a modified car than this one:

Mike rebuilt this car several times and I doubt there will EVER be another 5 series like it (save all the "And with good reason!" comments chaps). Read the frankly massive build thread and you'll see why and how it ended up like this! http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/showthread.php?t...

Put simply, it looks hard as nails.

I disagree with almost everything you just said, in particular this bit 'it looks hard as nails' to me it really doesn't, it looks like it needs some more nails to hold it together and actually looks ridiculous

Also what makes it the most 'character-ful'(is that a word?) please don't say 'because it has a face'

Anyone can bh and moan at my comment all they want, I will say one thing it isn't horrible but I really don't like it, good job taste is subjective

Taste is entirely subjective and I full respect your opinion in regards to the look of the car, but I'll tell you why I believe it has more character (I don't believe characterful is a word no.) than most modified cars I've seen. It has basically been three different cars, the first incarnation being a simple 'Euro Look' roof rack jobbie, that was quite mint. Then a friend of his crashed it into an eighteen wheeler and it got parked up and stripped for spares, however because there was 'something about it' he went back to it and turned it into a rat rod because the car was no longer too tidy to tamper with, I think it was at this point the bulkhead decided it didn't want to be part of the car any more and proceeded to detach itself. Again, parked up for a while and it began to get stripped. Yet something pulled him back in, a new front end was grafted on and some serious bodywork was done. This is why I suggested reading the build thread, Mike's heart and soul went into the car, along with a lot of his friends. This car splits opinion everywhere it goes but I will say this.

If the car had started out mint and he had done this to it from the start, I would hate it, I don't like people purposefully ruining good quality cars in the interest of 'stance' or 'the look'. But when they start with a bin and put the hours in to get something unique, that's what I like. Unfortunately all the hard work that went into 'Rusty' was wasted when his garage burnt down with Rusty inside of it.

Maybe this might appeal to you - Same guy, different approach.
