Airbags don't mean they are stuck at that level.
It means they are adjustable.
You do know that, right?
I'm fully aware of that yes, but I believe he had to do a bit of fabrication to get the car to sit as low as he wanted, which imho is far too low. This is the 'stance' it'll be in when the car is at shows and I think that's a shame because he had it right (again, imho.) to begin with!It means they are adjustable.

Call me small-minded, but as soon as I see the word 'stance', I turn off. I loathe the entire concept of a 'scene' based around lowering a car, and doing 'individual' things that everyone does, thus negating the originality.
I know, I know - one man's meat and all that.
This might seem contrary to my previous posts but as I previously stated, if that E28 was any other car I'd probably loathe it. I know, I know - one man's meat and all that.
I hate 'scenes', the 'Euro' and 'Bimmer' ones are some of the worst, it seems as if your car doesn't follow the strict rules set by members of the 'scene' you will be thrown out of the group. I'm having that problem myself at the moment because I own a Honda Civic I'm not interested in anything that has been done to them before. People don't seem to be interested in the fact I wanna try a bit of fabrication and adapt bike carbs to my D15 for a bit of *parp parp* yet if I was to go "I'm droppin' a B16 in yo!" they'd be all over me.
Far too much snobbery about in nearly every car culture these days.

To be honest I think most people on PH had enough of the Mike Burrough's cars when they were current, on this thread and on the 'Badly Modified Car Thread' or whatever it's called! I didn't mind the E28 in an earlier incarnation but not before it's demise as you posted. I can understand both the love and the hate, to me the internet and being able to find photos of awesome cars in a split second has clouded my judgement slightly. I'm sure seeing cars randomly in the metal would conjure a different reaction.I hate 'scenes', the 'Euro' and 'Bimmer' ones are some of the worst, it seems as if your car doesn't follow the strict rules set by members of the 'scene' you will be thrown out of the group. With regards to the Civic, I would expect enthusiasm to be shown in the right circles.
That Rekord looks boss, although agree that a bit of rake may improve it.
..And to add something to the thread, here's a couple of photos I took of two nice looking cars (IMO..):

I like that a great deal. It brings back great memories of a friend of mine whose first car was a Herald. Slow but brilliant, able to drift around roundabouts at 10mph always had us giggling, plus the added excitement of knowing that certain movement caused fuel to slosh out of the tank in the boot thus soaking all our college work for the day only seemed to add to the fun. That sense of fun combined with a more sorted chassis and a characterful 6 pot must make for one heck of an entertaining car.

replace all the bulbs on that with ebay HID conversion kits and that will be a retina burning monster!
True but the HID's are useless as main beam.I bought a BMW Motorcycle where the numpty previous owner fitted HIDS. Dip was ok as it was on all the time but the main beam took a good few seconds to come up to brightness by which time i had to dip it again.
Most factory cars (certainly used too) use HIDs as dip and conventional halogen as main beams...Or switched the Hid position into high beam.
Similar memories here, about 30 years ago mate of ours had a Herald estate that had Esso tyres (originals?) that were cracked and shiny. Seemed like every turn or roundabout we went round had it sliding about.

Time to open up a gargantuan can of worms here...
Someone mentioned a lot earlier in the thread that while to some of you, eat your dinner off it mint cars are the only way of modifying them, others look for character.
I've yet to find more character in a modified car than this one:
Mike rebuilt this car several times and I doubt there will EVER be another 5 series like it (save all the "And with good reason!" comments chaps). Read the frankly massive build thread and you'll see why and how it ended up like this! http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/showthread.php?t...
Put simply, it looks hard as nails.
Fair dues I just read through the thread... bloody impressive work. I just believe it deserves a proper paint job!Someone mentioned a lot earlier in the thread that while to some of you, eat your dinner off it mint cars are the only way of modifying them, others look for character.

Astonishing amount of time put into that car - I think he's gone a bit off-the-map with the roof-job and stance but hey, it's his car and it's lived one hell of a life!!Someone mentioned a lot earlier in the thread that while to some of you, eat your dinner off it mint cars are the only way of modifying them, others look for character.

I'd have stopped with lowering it - those wheels, that "oil" paintjob and the graphics - awesome.
