Nicely unsafe.

Fuel tank right behind the passenger with monkey filler neck. I assume it's not a FIA approved foam lined one?
Harnesses on standard seats running down at stupid angle (unsafe) to floor mount rolleyes

This is for the other "stter" thread.

I have to agree - youre going to die a fiery death in that car. Far, far better to have protected the original tank.

You might as well have fitted a shower head to the one fitted there! It needs a firewall at the absolute minimum.

reading the build thread.. i think its a 2nd fuel tank to extend their range with a faucet pump to transfer fuel between the 2.

Makes sense but it needs making safe. Is it a Spitfire tank? Also, do you have a link to the build thread?

Thank you. I tried to do something similar to my old 944 uing a speedboat tank. Theres no real way to make it safe though, because even if a round spare wheel type tank was a feasible option (not in a 944, as its upright directly behind the rear panel), theres still no practical way to make a firewall.

Death isn't choosy. It will kill the occupants of that Maestro just as happily as the local shonkymobile. I would say I'd expect better. But you know what these home DIYers are like. laugh

Unfortunately so, as I admitted 4 posts down from my original contribution wink

Cracking looking car though, great from any angle and perfectly proportioned.

Shamefully stolen from the "Badly Modified Cars" thread...

E39 Pickup - which I'm almost ashamed to say I really like.

Doesn't seem right to put this on Badly Modified thread as I think its pretty good. Seen it on Facebook, suspect the Devon County Council bit is 'shopped in. Hopefully not a pearoast...

....hang on, where is the engine, in the back or is the whole thing 'shopped!
