There are a few videos of it on Youtube it doesn't roll like a 2CV anymore, skip to 1:10 in to see it driving

That is stunning, the design of the finished bodywork is excellent! Still looks like a 2CV, but has hints of Ferrari at the same time

I'd half consider it if it was a runner. Hard to guess what it drives like if it's motionless.

To be honest, I didn't read enough of it to take in that it's got no engine! As such I withdraw my initial comment M'lud.

Bit of a confusing ad/listing.

I deciphered it as a mk2 Astra GTE that's been converted to RWD and has previously had a Merc 190e 2.3-16 motor and a YB Cosworth motor in it (not at the same time) but is being offered for sale without an engine! confused

Sticking my neck out here and saying I really do not understand the massive love for the old golfs and polos, they're boring square box cars usually with horrible wheels and more often than not dodgy suspension

But each to their own

Personally I like the simplicity of cars of that era. I also love the way they drive. Where I can feel what the car actually does when I turn the wheel. It's just I prefer RWD.

I'll admit to never having driven one so really cannot and won't attempt to comment on how they drive

I assume the BMW's above are yours, I don't dislike them, I think the boxy look works better on a saloon tye car than a hatch, can't help but think those weird small BMW grills ruin the front of those though, looks like they forgot to put them in and had to make them tiny to fit

The kidney grill, as it's called, has been a BMW styling cue since they started building the 303 in 1933. I guess these cars are what I grew up with, liked and aspired too? I still feel the same today really.

I didn't know they went that far back, I think what I really meant was if they were slightly wider I think they'd fit in better, I'm 23 so didn't grow up with these, thats probably where the difference comes in

Did they all have that splitter as standard? The more I'm looking at them the more I'm liking them

Going from your user name I guess the above are E21's?

Volkswagen created the GTi badge. Then Peugeot built a car to put it on biggrin

Never been a fan of Golfs of any era, with the exception of the Mk4 (i think) R32. Putting stretched tyres on them does even less for me.

Pug boxes are where it's at.
