A big V6 will weigh so much more as to skew the 309's weight distribution and handling balance while the Rallye's defining characteristic was the highly tuned eight-valve engine. Changing the wheels on the 309 is a mistake too. Those original Speedlines are probably the best looking alloys ever made.
Maybe think of it as a more compact / better handling 406 V6? If it doesn’t achieve that then maybe it was a waste of time, unless you just want to go in a straight line. I was never won over by those original 309/205 15” Speedlines, I preferred the 14” pepperpot Speedlines.
