My 93 Mini Italian Job has every single service invoice, repair bill, parts receipt, tax disc and MOT from new. I've owned it 15 years, one previous owner, and it will never be sold!

Despite reading through the comprehensive service history and repair invoices (circa £1200 pa) which also seemed to indicate a fire in the original heater matrix, I was not put off 7 years ago ! We must be mad.

Recently bought a 10 year old 110,000 mile Volvo estate as a 'near shed'.

I was in two minds over whether to buy it then the salesman produced the fully stamped up service book - OK nice - getting there.

But shortly afterwards he found the huge wad of invoices and records that confirmed much routine care and attention had indeed been lavished on this virtually unmarked motor over the years.

Deal sealed - I hardly chipped him because all that paperwork gave me a warm glow.
