One of my greatest car memories is when I was on a school trip in 1981 aged about 9, on a coach going to Paris. A car transporter loaded up with these cars went past. Incredible.

Tin of Silicon spray liberally emptied around the frame (with the window down obv) will resolve that one for any car...
I think I love you.

In amongst all the sliding and revving, I rather enjoyed the laaaaaaaaaaaag after the 360 at about 25 secs. Brought forth a little lol.

Anyway, here's another video of Ragnotti doing what he does best. FWD.

Wouldn't want one but delighted to see that there's still some knocking about. Really, they were totally ott in their day especially the Turbo 1.

I know its not completely the same model, and I know I have posted this before on other threads with regards to this car, but I spotted this at Oulton Park a while back, and despite all the Ferrari's etc around it, this just stood out, so good to see in person!

That looks great

Would.

I watched 'Madness on wheels' the other week and wonder where all those T16's that there seemed to be quite an abundance of outside a Peugeot factory?

My wife's all time favourite car. Wish I could afford to buy one for ME her. wink

Test drove a Clio V6 Mk1 a good few years back. So tempted and such an event to drive (not always for the right reasons I believe...). Still tempted.

A mate of mine bought one for this very reason. Sold it after about 6 months for a couple of grand profit.

This was mine, which was fitted from new with the 185bhp kit. I bought it when I was 24 in 1994 for 6.5k and sold it in 2008 to a guy from Spain for 11.5k. Its current value would be at least 25k. I loved it and only sold it due to family requirements.

Wikipedia suggests there were only 200 T16's made, which considering what they were going to be subjected too, isn't very many.

I had a pearl white one back in 1992. Bought it for £8000 from a guy in Accrington. Got to j11/12 on the M25 on the way home from buying it and the clutch went. Got it fixed and had a lot of fun with it. Mine had the split rim Gotti wheels on it and the 180bhp kit. I had to sell it after a year of ownership as i lost my job and have wanted another ever since.

IIRC, that's a Renault 5 Turbo Maxi... or was it Maxi Turbo?

Really love these and would dearly love one in red, RHD and sporting a large set of black full bucket seats - exactly like the one that a chap used to have local to me when I was growing up whilst at school back around 1991.
Would absolutely love to have a ride in one some day.

Same as all the Group B cars. Manafacturers had to make 200 road going examples in order to race them.

Whether 200 of said cars were actually made in the first place depends on what manafacturer and who you speak to though....

No it's not a Renault Maxi 5 Turbo: it's a regular Turbo 2 with a Maxi-style bodykit. Renault Sport only produced the necessary 20 genuine Maxi 5 Turbos for homologation. A fair few of those were promptly dismantled for spares. Since the works Renault team only competed in a handful of rounds of the WRC, there were very few genuine works car made. This probably makes them one of the rarest of all the Group B works cars. Renault did make the required 200 Turbo 2 road cars with a slightly higher displacement (but no other noteable differences). These are known as the "8221" model cars, as opposed to the other about 4800 "8220" model Turbo 1 and Turbo 2 cars. nerd
