I've always fancied the idea of a Mk1 Tigra with a 2l turbo or a V6 engine and properly sorted suspension. Exterior needs to look as normal as possible of course. It would probably be s t though.

There's something poetic about it as the S14 has its roots in the M10 2002 Four cylinder so could be considered evolution. In the light weight iconic 2002 body with the individual throttle body per cylinder, low rotating inertia powertrain and light weight fly wheel the throttle response would be amazing!

Not my doing but I knew a bloke many, many years ago who, with a lot (read huge amount) of 'fettling', managed to shoe horn a Rover V8 lump and transmission into a Moggie Minor 1000 shell. To be fair he did screw a jag independent rear axle onto it as well but it was hideously scary until he changed the front suspension as well. He kept the outside as 'stock' as possible so he could 'amaze' the unwary with it!

The original 02 concept was economy. I relish the idea of running a tidy everyday classic that's tax free and more economical than the average repmobile. The 123d engine i standard tune would give 55-65 mpg, under 7 seconds to 60. Aerodynamically challenged but probably capable of circa 135mph. A £300 remap would give 240bhp and a whopping 370lbs/ft torque. Hmmmm.....

S2000 engine into a s800, and then made to look like the s800 racecar. I think someone was attempting to do this, but I remember slow progress, and not been on the s2ki forums for a few years. +

My daft project is currently in progress.
1973 XJ6 S1 short wheelbase. Removed orginal engine, fitted XJR-6 4 litre supercharged with a Getrag 5 speed manual gearbox behind it, and a 3.54 : 1 limited slip diff at the back end. Next up are fitting the springs of a 3.6 XJS sports and the rear antiroll bar off the same, while I'm waiting on the ECU.
Should be a fun toy, what with a power increase from the original 160hp up to the XJR-6's 320-ish.
Stage 2 of the evolution will be the V8 supercharged Jag engine if this turns out too tame.

The car: New engine: Its had to have the fuel tanks changed for the S3 XJ6 injection ones, a custom propshaft is on the way, as the Getrag uses a sliding yoke rather than a bolt up face, and a ton of other minor items I ignored/forgot/buggered up all got in the way. The wiring is a pain in the arse, as I hate it. Similarly, building an ECU is no fun either. However, not long now and the damn thing will be running. Rich

That is going to be a hoot .... and it looks great. There's something about classic/ rustic jaguars that really hits the spot. Resist the urge to restore it to shiny perfection.

Its going to get a blow over, as the rust bug has had a chomp on it over the winter. But its keeping the dents, and the slightly tatty chrome, as thats part of the charm of what makes it my old car.
I'm missing driving it.
