IIRC, Schuey had a suer-rare SS model, in yellow. He crashed it.
Great car, it put Bugatti back on the map, there are 2 companies still making the EB110 under different names but I can't remember off the top of my head who they are. One in Italy and another in the US.

If so, they no longer make it due to only having bought the last handful of original chassis/tubs.
Not aware of anyone who's bought the tooling or remade the tubs from scratch again.

I must be in the minority in not liking the looks of the XJ220.
Never been a fan of the XJ220, ugly as sin IMO. EB110 It's great these cars are made in such limited numbers, not a big fan but can appreciate the car for what it is.
A flawed but great car IMO.... Also, bar the financial recession, the direction I wish Bugatti had succeeded in. Eccentric supercars. The Veyron is a a good few steps too far towards VAG and away from nuts. The same criticism can also be aimed at a certain other current supercar manufacturer.

hehe strange how they chose a small V12 3.5 litres, then stuck 4 turbo's on it. Would of been better off with a bigger engine and less FI.
Yeah, who wants technology? An eight litre push-rod V8 would have been much simpler and cheaper.FFS. Four turbos. Sixty valves. Twelve cylinders.
There is a replacement for displacement, it's called engineering.

The Adonis is/was an Italian coachbuilder, iirc.

The XJ 220 - a good looking car in my opinion - But way too big! if Jaguar had done the opposite of Porsche (Put the 911 picture on a photocopier and expand it - easy the new Cayenne) they should have shrunk the car by 20%
The design size is dictated by stability beyond 200mph IIRC, successful at LeMans the body shape follows the race cars quite closely, look at the 917 lang Heck, or the Maclaren F1s with the extended rear body work.wal 45 said:
Always been one of my favourite supercars and still looks good today certainly shades the Veyron for me especially when you see them together.
Anyone else remember the Le Mans outing in 94 or 95 it had, great car although don't remember it lasting the distance.
One of these in supersport spec, in silver, with dark grey rims and spoiler would be perfect.Anyone else remember the Le Mans outing in 94 or 95 it had, great car although don't remember it lasting the distance.
I share your view- easily rather one of these than a Veyron.
Le Mans was 94 and it was running well (8th or 9th i think) until a turbo let go. It then came back out after a couple of hours, and then...............

Do i remember reading that it was designed by an Architect rather than a car designer?
Either way, i would have one in a heartbeat- above an f40 or f50.
(although it would take some time to decide between one of these and a Dauer 962)

My dad had one of these ( and apologies, as I know how that sounds ). He never really gelled with it though. The problem was, and the reason he thought it ultimately failed commercially, was that it was too much a jack of all trades but master of none. People who owned a car like this usually had a few others, and this didn't really fill a role. It was too flashy if you wanted a discrete drive, but not quite flashy enough if that is what you wanted . It was fast but not the fastest, nor was it the car you would take on your last ever drive.
He swapped it for an rs200 in the end - a different but far more rewarding car...

Yeah, that's right bhes.
OK you win. Saw a couple of these (EB110s, not Cortinas) when I lived in Italy. Or maybe the same one 2 or 3 times. I'll dig out the photos when I get home.
I absolutely LOVE THIS CAR! id take it over the Veryon. And as much as I love the XJ220 id still have the EB110. The interior isnt that bad either for the age, far better than the XJ220.
I WANT ONE SO BAD!!!!! If I hit the lotto this would be my one Super-Duper Car in my dream garage.
So, how many of you would take this over an F40?
Heres the catch; You can have the F40 in ANY color OTHER THAN than red. And you can have the Bugatti in either Bugats Blue or black! As much as you would almost have to take the Bugatti in blue, just as it would be sacrileage to have a Ferrari (especially an F40) in anything other than Red, i'd have to have my EB110 in pearl black, or matte black. Imagine that, pulling up to a club in an EB110 in Times Square. My God, you'd be a, well, you'd be a God!
I would love to see the following in a pack in the flesh:
Bugatti Eb110
Ferrari F40
Jaguar XJ220
Vector W8
Lamborghini Countach (maybe Diablo VT as well)
I know I am missing one here, a true hyper car of the 90's, what am I missing?

I am new here so here is my first post! I really like this site so far :-)
I have always been interested in the EB110 and you dont see many reviews of the car in current times, so this one was nice to see.
The engine sounds quite exotic with 5 valves per/cylinder and quad turbos! I don't think the interior is that bad in comparison to Lambos and the ilk of that time. The design is simple and the "cheap" plastic does look to bad in the pictures. Atleast I didn't readily spot any GM switch gear from the time period. I was let down by this other day while digging deeper into the Shelby series I the other day.
This design has aged well along with IMHO the Jaguar XJ220.
