Saw this on another forum: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331404184756?clk_rvr_id=...

Not highly optioned, but in (what appears to be) tremendous condition.

Mercedes E220 CDI.
07 reg
622,400 miles

That looks lovely - far better than the shonky Prius of the same age posted the other day!

I'd be seriously tempted by that.

Looks in great order, and for £3k you'd think it's a great buy...if it's made it to 600k +, surely it'll do more?

Well the starter motor will certainly be in good condition.

Doubt it - it'll have been used a lot more often than a private car going to an office and back 8 hours later

This has got at least another 400k if the last one is anything to go by...

I was in a 63 plate with 126k the other day, driver was saying they get rid as the warranty expires at 3 years, usually on 350+k miles!

They must be reasonably rhobust given the number that go to 'which terminal sir' operators and rack up silly miles knowing that the warranty will cover it for 3 years.

If they were that unreliable they wouldn't get used and cost MB a lot in warranty claims.

:-) That's my old shed! Still going strong, did an afternoon on circuit on Friday afternoon (just starting to get some pad knock off now when the brakes and bearings are hot so it will be due front wheel bearings soon, probably 20K or so and a couple of track days left in them), followed by picking up some plumbing supplies on Saturday:

It's been pampered today by having two new PZeros on the rear and a wash.

I know 996 have a bad rep but this one does appear to be everything proof! 207,112 miles as of this afternoon, or to put it another way about £45K in Super Unleaded smile

These two look like great buys to me!
That D5 engine especially is well known for doing this type of mileage with ease.

Bit different but quite impressed by this 13-plate Nissan Leaf on 75k miles. Good going for 18-months and still on the original battery with full bars.

Agree on the Leaf - good going!

The Superb doesn't look so superb but I like that V70 too - looks very fresh inside and out!

Except it's only done half that. 247k not 456k. Still good going though.

Not quite as high miles as some on here, but I just bought this today.

2000 BMW 523i - 188k miles. £950 (was up for £995)

I was also delighted to discover that it came with two spare alloys as well.

It was a round trip of 160 miles to collect it though!

Driving it back I noticed a vibration at anything over 65 - might be rear wheel balance or propshaft. There's also a slight oil leak form the tappet cover. Apart from that is seems ok, and also came with a large folder of history.

Some properly big miles on here and visually the cars wear those distances very well excluding the shed Prius.
Goes to show buy a car you like has all the kit you need on it then simply service it and maintain don't change it.

Could also be a flat spot in the tyre if it's been sat for some time

Good luck !

Lol that lots more than the car is worth.

Instead drive at under that speed where you have no vibration cost zero. (I'd get the wheels balanced all 4 £12 it may turn out a wheel or two is buckled
