The taxi driver I use to go to the airport buys a brand new Audi A6 on finance every four years.
Does over 100000 miles a year shuttling between the south coast and Gatwick or Heathrow.
Never looks like it has done the miles but only gets about £1800 trade in for them.
The one time he's sold privately got £5k from some Eastern Europeans who weren't interested in the service history - they would export, convert to LHD and lose the mileage. All they were interested in was it being the latest model.
So, there are well looked after 400k cars out there..

Theres a guy from the "DRIVE" channel in america who bought a Lexus LS400 on 900k and is planning to take it to the 1mil figure.
I think he's also spent as much as the purchase price on maintenance:http://www.thesmokingtire.com/2015/matts-million-m...

Interesting....I have a real soft spot for this gen E Class. Fancy getting myself one sometime...Judging by the posts on this site, would it be fair to say that more E Class Mercs make truly mega miles than 5 series BMs? You don't tend to hear of as many diesel related problems like swirl flaps and oil pump failures.....GreenArrow said:

The E class thing doesn't surprise me.I was in an E Class taxi, in Cyprus last year, which had done 700,000km.
And it appeared to drive very well.
