2003 E46 330d with 280k on it. Looks very nice!

Nearly £2.5k for a 9 year old 3 series with 280k miles?

Taking the piss IMHO.

I bet that's a rust bucket underneath that shiny paint.

Why would it be a rust bucket?

It's probably seen a lot of salty winter roads, and the E46 does like to rust...

Who knows ? That is why its interesting no mileage is on the listing, and,so far, no reply to those who seem to have asked the question...

One of our directors lives in Copenhagen and recently bought a 270CDI Estate from the official Mercedes Taxi refurb scheme. Basically Mercedes buy back the taxi's and preps them for retail sale - which involves full suspension overhaul, new seats and steering wheel, removal of meters and lights (I believe all the external signs are magnetic now so no holes) and installation of the new Command and Sat Nav unit, plus the usual wash 'n polish. Car was bought with 380,000 km on the clock, 3 years old and looks like it's done 1/4 of that - it doesn't look new by any means but there is plenty of life left in it. However, it cost £30k, yes, thirty. Blame the Danish tax scheme.

Let's start with this one: S Class, quarter of a million km in 5 years, 70k sterling!!

Current shape E class, E350 no less. 250k km in 2 and a bit years, 62 grand.

Old shape '97 E class, million kms, 4 grand.

The taxi refurb scheme sounds interesting, got any links on that? Always amazing how much the value differs between countries as those same cars would be worth a fraction of those prices over here.

Was browsing rover Minis and came across this.

210,729miles!

Don't think I've seen such a high mileage classic mini, especially as its a 90s one too. Sure its average miles for age, but not for the type of car.

Yeah i noticed that. but it made me wonder what the real mileage could be? Most people who write the mileage wrong add an extra 0 at the end.

So the response was "Hi please call the number on the advert 8am 8pm kind regards" which is strange because "how many miles?" is quite a simple question.

Could you not contact the police, they will have a department for this sort of thing. Maybe even SOCA, supposed it could be organised crime if it's a common occurance for the seller to do this. Got to wonder what they could be funding...

Probably best to speak to Trading Standards.

How the hell does somebody actually go about 'amending' service history? Is it just a case of 'new' book and dodgy stamps? Would anyone actually buy such a car without phoning the servicing dealer or OPC to confirm?
The mind boggles....
EDIT: i see it has 2 offers already...
