I agree - someone will get a very nice car for six grand if they choose that Volvo.

And it answers the question posed 5 weeks ago on the previous page in this thread, was it going to sell at £7000?

Not much of a bargain either, given it can be bought for £14K new....

https://broadspeed.com/new_cars/Skoda/Rapid/Choose...

OR an approved used one at a year old and 13K miles for £9295?

The ironically named Skoda Rapid

ETA: Autotrader says 89bhp. What a machine! It'd be nice to do 78.5mpg though, if that's really what it'll do

At the end of the day it's a Ford 2.0 Diesel. Is it that reliable at mega mile's?

I think the skoda is almost definitely a typo. It's at a main dealer with a avarage mile price.

Are you suggesting that because the engines made by Ford it'll be unreliable? 2.0 diesel Mondeos will run forever, there's a bloke on here running one as a taxi that's topped half a million miles iirc.

Artistic typo! I'd run one to 250,000. I wouldn't buy into one with 000's that's already done 250,000.

No it's not, it's the 5 cylinder Volvo engine, more powerful, more economical and nicer to listen to, and not likely to see their like again.

The Ford 2.0 lump is reliable, a Taxi driver here ran one over 300k before needing to change due to taxi regs. Lots of that was with a remap too! If it kept doing a decent mileage I reckon it would stay reliable.

Agreed. With maintenance those 2.0 lumps go on for ages. But I believe they are a PSA lump. The Ford lump in the MkIIIs did indeed have its share of issues, but even they can be avoided with genuine filters and V-Power diesel with possibly some two stroke oil. But who would do that?

As for another high miler. Here's one with an interesting twist:

A Ford Mondeo 2.5T Manual. A Volvo T5 engine.

That Volvo looks mega. Mileage wouldn't worry me at all.

Cheapest 2013 D4 here in NL is €17k.... Oh for UK car prices.
With how well my 175000 2005 V70 runs giving me 50MPG I would jump on this Volvo if it was my time, thats a great buy and I would say you could get that down to £5K as well.......

Just looked at the MOT history of the 63 Volvo:

3/10/2014 - 75642 miles
14/9/2015 - 147555 miles
15/9/2016 - 227389 miles

I think it means it was a registered Taxi as it was MOT'ed after 1 year?

Even So, I reckon its a great buy looking at the pictures

Undoubtedly. I've been picked up for an airport run in a similar V70 by Emirates.
