Completely forgot about this thread - love the new Jetta with 92k! yikes

Here are a few more:

Both seem to wear the miles well, especially that V70!

I sold my 2003 Audi A4 Tdi 130 quattro to my neighbour 5 years ago with 70k on the clock. He has put another 100k on it. The only big bills have been two more cambelt changes. I had a new turbo fitted at 55k under warranty. These cars are bullet proof. It stills looks tidy.

Scary that some of the interiors look quite good considering the mileages.

Makes you worry about the ones that are clocked.

It really makes you wonder, doesn't it? But then in the last 2 note how you can't clearly see the drivers bolster. Even still, I have seen much worse interiors on cars with less than half the miles.

My mate bought at auction, a 1.9TDI Passatt (think it was 1.9).
275,000 miles on the clock, a massive folder of service history & receipts, old MOT's etc, it even came with a private plate (although nothing special).
It had 3 months tax but no MOT, £130 to get it through the MOT.
He paid £250 for it!
He absolutely loves it for bangering around in!

With a rough guess of 15MPG consumption and even rougher average estimate of £1 per litre of petrol, that car is responsible for getting through £74,410 of the stuff since it was first put on the road!!.

I fully accept that I may be way off and the fuel consumption and average fuel price was even greater. hehe

That's crazy, it still looks brand new for a car that's nearly 10years old.

My 200k 80's Astra looked decent on the inside (even if the exterior was fked) and my current Focus, not exactly renowned for it's interior quality, would also look like a 50k car with a decent valet & is also into six figures & rising. Yet I've seen German cars with a third of the mileage looking like ste. Like the oily bits, it is often as much about treatment as inherent or perceived quality.

I guess the frustration now is probably fairly simple but expensive stuff that goes wrong - e.g. broken eletrickery that is arse-tighteningly expensive to repair but is obvious and so kills any trade-in value.

This E-Class is doing pretty well.

€4,800 but 423k miles from a late 2005.

http://www.autoscout24.de/Details.aspx?id=21214647...

Or if you like your miles done in double-quick time, this Sprinter has done 1k less - in just two years:

That is not a typo - there's a shot of the mileometer in the ad.

Recently retired a Mondeo Mk3 130 Tdci after 342,000 miles.

Very little went wrong with it and it's still on most of its original suspension.

Such a situation is a bit of a bugger. Reckon I'll get more for it by selling some parts and scrapping the rest.

How about this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

10 registration VW Jetta 1.6 TDI with 92,039 miles on the clock! Yes not as high as some of the others in this thread, but seems a crazy amount to cover in 2 years.

46k a year? Not too bad.

I can't think why you'd pick a base spec 1.6 diesel Jetta to do it in though!

Also found a 140k 09-Golf, which thinking about it would have averaged fractionally more - http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...

Or how about a 10-plate Civic with 144k, giving an average of 72k a year tongue out

And not strictly speaking "for sale" but someone on disco3.co.uk has a 55-plate LR Discovery with 400,335 on the clock!

That's unreal in just 24 months! That price is also nothing short of ridiculous either!
