Little bit bored with nice clean cars right now....Besides I like to see the look on the parents faces at my boys posh private school. Very funny.

Underneath though

Not a comment about my car but peoples' comments about their own:

'It's not just a (insert car of choice) that someone might have grounds to look down on, it's a super-duper version of that car that you should all be impressed by.'
The owner doesn't have to justify it to anyone except himself & such justification to others won't make his willy any bigger.

A clio with a big engine is still a clio.

It's more that when someone asks you what you drive, here's the dilemma. Do you say a clio, then they laugh, then you have to decide whether you go into the reasons for having an old clip that's slowly being turned into a track weapon, or leave it at that. Or do you bore them straight away? If they're a petrol head they'll have seen, or probably heard it first anyway. Then after the 'clio' part they'll ask if that's the awesome piece of kit sat in the car park.

So I usually say clio, if they laugh I know they're just an average member of the general public and humour them

I went to a 'posh' school and found that my friends 911 leaving a 20 metre 11 in the road usually got people attetuopn.

I have to say I still don't get the 'rat' look.

it us just nonsensical.

"It's Yellow"
"Why is it yellow?"
"Was that the last colour they had?"

I actually think it suits the car and the red version wasn't all that nice.
Isn't yellow a pretty common colour on Seats? I'd far rather a brighter colour than another Resale fking Silver car on the road

What's a Seat Ibiza DAB?
Seat Ibiza DAB Edition. Limited edition model from late 06/early 07. It's meant to have a DAB radio but the mine doesn't oddly enough. It has all the other stuff mind.

Yeah, you see plenty of things like Cupras and FRs in yellow yet anytime anyone talks about it, it's the colour that gets mentioned. The model I have was only available in Red or Black but there were no black models left.

tbh...it does look st. Paint it.
Or remove all the paint, give it a good polish and then protect the surface?
Yeah, it would be like a De Lorean Datsun!

I always get told 'Rovers are for granddads' and other old man comments, I nod, agree and then take them around the block. Usually does the trick when you're pinned into your chair on boost, surrounded by a sea of fake wood biggrin

I used to get that when I had my ZT-T 260. Didn't really bother me as:-
a) I am a grandad
b) Once I started the engine I couldn't hear the idiots anyway!

Gotta agree the Z is a great looking car, it's a shame to see one looking like a shed. I really don't get the fad of making your car look like it's fked up... FTLOG why? I want to give the impression I don't give a fk about my wheels... Well that succeeded. Get some paint on it and make it look as good on top as it does underneath (as you obviously do give a fk and it isn't a shed).

Ok then. An M3 is still just a 3-series. Just like a 320d. The variant of car is very important, I wouldn't point this out in conversation but if I got a snotty comment of "just a Clio" I'd be insulted by the ignorance.
