VR The wife didnt even shout 'leave it Wayne, e ain't worf it!!' M

It was SORN before, and probably for a while, according to the OP so why all of a sudden check on it? That's not "doing his job", that's suspicious.

I think the problem is more the fact that he drove into their close like a w ker, early on a Saturday morning, and was then brusque and discourteous. And all while turning up because someone he represents hasn't done their job.

Are you sure you've been a good boy......? on internet it says you can drive as soon as you have paid you tax before the disc has arrived. just use the receipt as proof. so maybe it was on the road taxed but no disc ? Sorry - I was becoming a little vexed and perplexed with the cad's behaviour. Better? No - We were absolutely by the book - It was SORN'd and then taxed online before being taken back on the road even for a quick around the block run. There were a few days without a disc, but the online status showed it as taxed, which seems the first thing these people should've checked, surely and for the majority of those it was left on our drive, despite being taxed! Anyway, no harm done really, it was just the Sweeney arrival and attitude that miffed me a bit That and the seemingly ongoing incompetence of government bodies who seem to be on a mission to f k up every transaction I have with them at the moment... Is part of his job being a rude/aggressive/ignorant c*nt? I suspect not, but whenever Ive seen these people thats how they come across. Im sure that everyone realises that even though the vans carry DVLA markings theyre actually contractors, and the companies employ people that are far more like wheel clampers than the counter staff at your local VRO. More on topic - yes someone called, because the vans drive slowly to ensure that the ANPR has a chance to scan all of the vehicles. If he bowled in then he knew where he was going, Id say.

OT You should try Lloyds TSB which I believe has a substantial gov't shareholding, - Ozzie goes into branch with passport etc and signs up for phone banking
- Lloyds write with a form to set up a password; Ozzie completes and signs the form, then sends it back
- Lloyds send another form to set up a password; Ozzie completes and signs the form, then sends it back
- Lloyds send a third form to set up a password; Ozzie completes and signs the form, then sends it back, with a comment that this is getting boring
- Lloyds write to Ozzie asking him to go into a branch with his passport....

Saw a few outside my work not a while back, it's a very cut off area though and looks more industrial if anything. An old mini and a LR both clamped with notices in the window. Nice to see they are clamping (pun fully intended) down.

Spotted one of these very same vans in a local shopping centre car park. Ironically not displaying a tax disc.

Just snapped it in disbelief as they were out clamping other cars whllst not displaying a disc themselves.
