No it doesn't help really. Ostentatious design is one thing, the 50s cars were made in the era of Dan Dare and the space missions getting started, sputnik being launched etc. The cars were futuristic - styled like aeroplanes and space ships.

Todays chav. wagons are styled like cheap plastic imported children's toys with big wheels for the average toddler to manage.

Can you therefore see why the 50s cars look cool and the modern chavwagon looks st?
