And what have you got against mohair? TVR hoods are mohair, or so I was told (but mine must have been a very short-haired Mo...)

Just as much as your TT was a golf with 2 doors and blingier interior trim.

The ignorance on PH never fails to amaze me.

Haha. I've never doubted that after I tested the capabilies of it.

but the evoque is nothing more than a freelander for people who like shiney things.

I quite like the rose gold accents and vintage inspired interior, its all quite subtle and tasteful.

I like the wheels and paint, but in reality I'd opt for conventional wheels and paint for practicality reasons.

The association with VB puts me right off though, but then I'm not in the market for an £80k softroader, so it matters not one jot.

They have priced them at £80k because they CAN. They'll sell in minutes, and if this ploughs more money into JLR for development etc then I'm in favour.

Still only a 2/10 from me though!

I like the Evoque but don't really see the point of this model if its going cost 2.5x the amount a standard model costs!

There are nearly seven billion people in this world, they are making 200 cars, I dont think they will get stuck with them.

Judging on what I have seen on my travels round the internet, people like more inexplicable things than what is a rather nice car, endorsed by a celebrity that, like it or not a lot of people do repect and admire, I cant see it myself and I could have advised JLR on what carpets to put in but nobody gives a toss about what I think.

As for brand values, so what, they are there to sell cars to people who can afford to buy them, having a loyal core of skint people doesnt keep you going, they arent interested in the bloke struggling to run a 99 V reg Vogue, they want the knobheads of TOWIE to buy them so other knobheads see them driving one and buy one.

The days of Range Rovers just being the upper classes attending Polo matches and point to points is over.

I'm guessing all 200 of the "special" editions will sell worldwide.

Nearly. hehe

The fact is that most cars being produced today have some degree of platform sharing/parts commonality, and whilst you expect the general public to come out with staments like "yeh, but a xxxxx is just a yyyyyy in drag, innit", you would hope that supposed car enthusiasts (on Pistonheads for example) wouldn't show themselves up to be so ignorant.

Can we have a special rev counter that goes to -10 for these sort of 'special editions'?

A step too far may be?

Who in their right mind is going to spend £80K on what will be known as the Vicky-Edition?

I quite like the Evoque, but I think I'd pay more to avoid this horror.
