There's a black California parked near my office nearly every day so I've had quite a lot of time to look at in the flesh.
It's just gawky and uncomfortable looking and a complete contrast with the F458 which is sometimes parked next to it. Even the behemoth 612 which is nearly as big as the USS Nimitz up close is obviously much better resolved as a whole.
I'm no designer but I know when a car looks at ease with itself and the Cali doesn't.
you work in a certain south-east london borough by any chance? i do remember going past a car park that often had a black cali and couple of red 458s which i thought must have been an overspill for a dealers (de stefanos?) as there was often bentleys etc flanking them. i think the plate on the cali is something ridiculous like ENG11N (i still see it on the road occasionally) and i couldn't help but think it looked great in black. It's just gawky and uncomfortable looking and a complete contrast with the F458 which is sometimes parked next to it. Loads of sports cars do that...
Dont think so... name 3? other than the cali? Its awful. You pay alot of money for the thing and they make it look like a cheap halfords reject. Its terrible! Looks awful and is a clear marketing exerise for ferrari to try and tempt people away from porsches etc, but because its been built to a specific budget it just ruins everything a ferrari is meant to be.Schnellmann said:
Please can someone explain to me the point of the California having "4" seats, when you cannot possibly get anybody (with legs) into the rear two seats? This is a genuine question because if you don't need four seats, why wouldn't you buy either a 599 or a 458 spider instead?
Those seats are no different to those in an AM DB9.It's a 2+2
I looked at a Cali before I bought my Vantage S.
If you do any overnight stops with it you will need the seats for storage as the boot is crap with the roof down
It is ALOT cheaper than a %99 or 458 spider as well
It looks like the handling upgrade has made it a bit more focused.
I quite like the fact you can switch it from hooner to cruiser (unlike my V8VS)
Shame it still looks plug ugly

Thinking about this I'd probably go for a used 16M rather than a Cali with the handling pack
They're both hideous! Just wait for the V12V roadster, you know you want to! I may take it in to my own hands on Friday

You didn't get Chris Harris to test it, then....
I've got to say I'm with monkey on this one. Spoke to a Mclaren Engineer at Longcross test facility last year about the MP412C, Noble, 458 track test EVO did where the 458 got the fastest time. He was moaning about the 458 they pitched it against being pretty much a slick shod GT Racer. Sad that Ferrari should do this to themselves, does nothing but damage to their reputation IMO.
