It was a special option smile

I used to have it lower down but then the four track wheels don't fit in.

The chav comments are puerile.

The E36 M3 is a stunning car always has been and always will IMO. Being honest there isn't a single M3 that I wouldn't own.

By PH logic that would surely make Krikkit a chav because he is modifying a car to make it something it is not (even if in this case it's downgrading a car which IMO is a worse sin)

I think his request is a fairly reasonable one, given that the M3 wing mirrors were so regularly stolen to adorn 318i's elsewhere.

I think the chav comments are more directed toward the replica M3 chavvy E36s that the majority of the public wouldn't differentiate from a real M3.

By definition, a chav wouldn't have a nice, well kept, good example of an M3 but a crappy replica or battered M3.

I sold mine due to the image problem. I knew mine was real and not chavvy, but everyone else just saw what they saw as a chavvy BMW.

As mentioned earlier though, I still take a good look and smile when I see a well kept E36 M3 - they are far from chavvy.

Unfortunately, the above is where the general E46 currently.

Techno violet and sunflowers is just about my perfect M3, throw in black vaders and we are there.

Shame they never did Hell Rot(red) on the M3. Its such a nice colour on the 328i... I miss my sport it was such a great car.

Indeed, don't think the Evo came in this shade though

Hmmmmm, some nice E36 M3's here. If I didnt like my E39 M5 so much I'd chop it in for an E36 and look at Forced Induction...

Very nice ^^

Correct on the subject of Hellrot: It was available on the M3 3.0, not the Evo. However, the Evo was available in Bright Red and Imola Red.

I'd really, really like to get the ride height of mine down to something a little more pleasing. It needs to come down more at the front than back though. Any thoughts on decent spring sets with biased heights?

I put Eibach 'Pro' springs on mine. Nice subtle drop (25/30mm drop at the front). I replaced the shocks with brand new standard items and found the setup great for normal/fast road use.

ETA - the rear drop is 15mm I believe.

I'm sorry I really cannot understand how a image can make you get rid of the car.

Honestly, did anyone ever say anything negative about the car to you or have you just spent too much time on here caring about what a narrow minded bunch tell you?

On the plus side if you lot keep this up then it could help to drive M3 prices down even more and then who will be laughing , those of us who punt a few grand on one an thoroughly enjoy it.

I'll consider myself taught! Have to say I truly desire a hellrot M3... that is a thing of beauty and my heart aches for it!

Best BMW colour ever....almost.

Takes ambers well, too.

I have a full set of CC compliant ambers for mine, but on estoril they look bloody awful.

I also love the look of early Dakar 3.0Ls with ambers. That combination just does it for me
