I sold mine due to the image problem. I knew mine was real and not chavvy, but everyone else just saw what they saw as a chavvy BMW.

.
I'm sorry I really cannot understand how a image can make you get rid of the car.

Honestly, did anyone ever say anything negative about the car to you or have you just spent too much time on here caring about what a narrow minded bunch tell you?

On the plus side if you lot keep this up then it could help to drive M3 prices down even more and then who will be laughing , those of us who punt a few grand on one an thoroughly enjoy it.

I sold that car before I became a member on PH , so the opinion of those on here didn't have anything to do with it.

It was more to do with my observations and that they took away some of the appeal of the car.

At the time I was probably more concerned about what others thought of what I did than I am now, I was ~21 when I sold it about 10 years ago.

I'd really, really like to get the ride height of mine down to something a little more pleasing. It needs to come down more at the front than back though. Any thoughts on decent spring sets with biased heights?
Mine has Eibach springs on it, fitted before I bought it but I can check what they are on the receipt if you want to know. It does have a slightly nose down stance, but not very pronounced. I find the ride height fine, it doesn't cause clearance issues except over extreme speed humps. More pics via my profile if you want to see other angles.

Yep, that's about the right height i reckon. Just needs a little shaving off the current height.

Eibach pros will drop them 25mm on the front, 15mm rear. I didn't want to lower mine but it was cheaper than replacement BMW springs.

Hi there and thanks to all for your input to this topic.
I bought a 94 3.0 last year having had a 328 sport as a company car some years ago. So pleased that I did! Having always been a petrolhead it feels like the first red blooded car I've owned. It may well become a collectors item, so while mine is becoming a bit of a "garage queen." I'd advise anyone to get one and drive it. You only live once!
It's been amusing to read all your opinions, especially those who've owned a variety of e30, e36, e46.
Have been trying to upload a photo but am a nube!
Thanks again!

There, made it work at last! As you can see it's Avus Blue
It's not completely mint, but IMO fab!

Lovely colour, iconic on the e36 m3. Looks good with ambers too.

Have a set of clears but, like the ambers.
Still chuffed the right car came along, at the right time in my favourite colour.
Still have my BBS from 328 which I recon won't look too bad on it.
There's some excellent "how to" split them and restore 'em.
Sunflowers could use a resto.
Good things come to those who wait!

Is the bonnet open or does it not sit correctly?

IIRC if it's the latter, it's an easy fix by adjusting the clips.

Noticed Neil_M had repainted his in the thread he's done on his evo saloon.
Did think they'd adjust quite easily. Not the most spanner brave myself, but think even I could tweak these.
Definitely will have a go now you've said it! Thanks!
If you've not read Neil_M's thread, it's excellent. Superb car he's making even better.
Any more tips very welcome!

Most places sell them for around £270. I've a funny feeling I paid around £200, I've had a quick hunt through the sites I usually order from but couldn't find them close to that price.

Cheers. Decided to stick with OEM. Mines 100% stock so would be a shame to start playing about smile

Did pull it out of the garage on Sunday and found a diff oil and cpv seal leak. The E36 M3 isn't for people who like to run a car on a budget sadly frown

Tell me about it. Did my diff seals a few months ago.

I reckon I spend around £1K a year on it easily, when currently it's covering about 2-3k a year.

Must try harder John... 36.4p per mile.
Mine was getting close at 29.7p per mile.
The M5 is currently at 48.6p per mile, which I have a feeling is about to get worse again.

I still need to talk to you about where you got steering wheel etc. re-trimmed as I'd like to do the same to the M5.

Amateurs!

http://www.pistonheads.com/members/showcar.asp?car...

To be fair the CPV is a pretty cheap fix. 2 years ago my Insp.2 service identified a slight weep from the diff output seal- I was going to attend to it but then saw that it was doing it in 2006 when the last owner bought the car so couldn't be horrendous...

Next major bout of expenditure coming up with a set of Bilsteins I reckon.
