Yellow lights are the business.

Think the opening scenes to Le Mans with Steve McQueen driving his yellow lighted 911S through the town down to Maison Blanche.

Think Parisienne cafe culture, vin rouge and a half smoked Gitanes.

This is why yellow lights are cooler than the other side of the pillow.

I drove one a few years back; nasty inside, nasty gearbox and felt like it took a second or two (well, long enough to tighten your bot bot) for the suspension to settle going through fast sweepers, did not like

I bought one and sold it within 6 months for precisely this reason - the chassis (and indeed the brakes) couldn't cope with the power. Not even close. I concluded there's a reason why the E39 M5 cost twice as much, despite offering similar power.

You can, however, get 30mpg on a motorway run.

Gearbox's are my quarm with Monaro's .... feels like a bloody truck.

With prices varying between £17-37k, at what price point would said machine be considered a sensible buy? Ie sensible enough to keep shirt loss to an absolute minimum over the period of a year or so?

I reckon that the money-pit has out-lived its tolerance because he's also realised that those old Porkers, frankly, ain't all that. Why pay Porsche-sized repair bills for fast Ford performance?
