Not forgetting the mid-mounted engine Yeah... maybe. If it were a bit closer to home I'd be very dangerously tempted.

This place is odd. I post up spy shots of the new baby Jag, and all anyone is talking about is that Renault 4.
(Which is lovely.)

You need this http://pistonheads.com/sales/3251879.htmWould also make a nice upgrade for a cheap M5 with broken Vanos, but a good block.

If it behaves through the German jaunt then I'll order up a selection of parts it needs to return it to absolute perfection. The list is a cable (for the dash) and a cog (for the rear window mechanism)

That'd be ace. S62 engine and gearbox is effectively a straight fit in the 540i but obviously the exhaust/driveshafts/prop etc.. will take some thinking.

Jobbo said: I like it. If it's as good as my 126k mile Boxster, it'd be a no-brainer over a lower mileage model, I would suggest. Problem is, I would suggest, your Box has much thicker cylinder walls and also puts less load on them. Box lumps don't go oval and crack like the 996 3.4 and 3.6 lumps. That's the difference.

For working drivetrain, Engine + ancillaries Loom G'box You're looking at 4-4.5k. Might be better off buying a '39 M5 cheap ! Stripping it, rebuild engine etc and then break what you have left for spares.

Or Eaton supercharger kit and you have 400ish bhp..... ?
Have heard a few people take XJR superchargers and use them to good affect. Will find the thread about a V8 E30 with a Jag blower on it.
