I remember when they were £20k and in an Evo shootout with a Ferrari 348 and some other kit. The cost of maintainance was about twice that of the Ferrari. Whn JC tested it on old Top Gear he ripped it appart as inferior to a 3 series. I had a poke around one - everything feels utterly breakable. Styling is awkward and the interior tacky I would suggest this is an aweful, aweful car and I'm therefor at a complete loss as to why I really, really want one.

Evolution models were built under Ferrari ownership, launched 1998, there were 480 odd changes made to the car, the engine outputs were not one of the changes.
All three engines, 2.0 V6 TT (Italian tax break market), 2.8V6 TT and 3.2 V8 TT, were available through the production run.

Modern turbo diesel Beemer.
Moving at reasonable speed - say 0.8-0.9 leptons - full passenger compartment, and driving up an incline. Basically, all the loadings are prevalent.
You feel a momentary hesitance/loss of power through the accelerator pedal. As if someone squeezed a rubber fuel hose for less than a second.
Likely to be a fuel supply issue? Turbo-wobble? Something else? Dirty MAF? Turbo? Fuel pump? I've had this on my 330XD in similar circumstances but haven't got round to taking it in to les local spanner monkeys yet so I'm also Yep - I think I'll get the diagnosis thingie plugged in this weekend - don't really want to pay a dealer £80 simply to tell me what the OBC is saying. Does yours only happen when the car is under heavy load too? It's only happened 3 or 4 times, but they were always at speed when pressing on up an incline. Could be any of the above. Might also be the oil separator getting clogged up under load, causing pressure on the turbo and stalling it momentarily. Again, simple to swap out and something that should be done every service (IMHO) anyway. Small vacuum hose leak, only occurring under max load?

There used to be a chap - Twitchy Keith - ran a buy/sell/break yard (mainly break) for Yank cars on the site which is now occupied by the O2 arena. I bought plenty of septic bork from him between 1985-89. In the last 12-18 months that I used him, he was additionally breaking, in some cases, very late Masers at an alarming rate as they haemorrhaged in front of their owners' eyes.

Kind of missing the point there really although more power is achievable from these.
