RE: Spotted: Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black Series
Discussion
Just wondering about something, was inspired by the thread to have a quick look around and saw the below..
http://used.mercedes-benz.co.uk/amg/used/2007/merc...
and saw it has rear seats which I thought were stripped out of the car? or was that an option that was added back...

They don't have rear seats, just carpeted wells which looking at the pics that car has too. Can't believe the MB main dealers. Advertising the car as a "CLK 63 Sport", clearly they haven't a clue as to what they really have, although the price is pretty spot on IMO.http://used.mercedes-benz.co.uk/amg/used/2007/merc...

Neither. Maybe a proper Lambo which wont lose a penny or maybe an older RS (964 or dreaming, 993).http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3435038.htm

As mentioned in my previous post, seen in the exact same area a few days ago however this time the missus was driving and I made her immediately pull over so I could run back to get a few pics

Holy thread revival...Doesn't the DTM version command a £40k+ premium over the 'normal' Black series? Well in excess of six figures to buy anyway. Wouldn't say they were really comparable, in that regard anyway.

I would say a much higeer amount, Black Series are available from 60-80k whereas the DTM looks to be sitting between 140-200k depending on mileage and whether it is a coupe or cabriolet. I imagine the DTM and the Black Series are two very different beasts.
I remember a gentleman in USA owning a DTM and said it kept up with a friends Enzo everywhere. They are rumored to be more powerful than official figures, which may have background in the fact that the SLR was in Mercedes' spotlight at the time and they likely didn't want the crowd to take notice of the DTM too much...

I'm fortunate to have both a CLK Black "Serious" and a CLK DTM. Both are stunning. The Black is very fast and very capable. The DTM is, and by some margin, faster still and much more special but that's taking nothing away from the Black as that is an immensely special car too.
The Black has been misunderstood by too many people and when you "get" it, you so get it and I am glad that Chris Harris "gets" it as many will listen too, and embrace his views and opinions.
I've been fortunate to have some special cars over the years and the one that I've had the longest now is the Black series. The reason for this is simple, it provides me the largest smile from a car that I have ever had and I cant see what else is out there that can do this right now. I was tipped off about CLK Black Series by WTDoom and he was so right. Four more people who I know and who have experienced my own car since, now have CLK Black Series themselves.
But remember, the DTM is more special still........
