Have always liked the Aero 8. But I much prefer the look of the MINI headlamps instead of the VW Beetle ones. And as for the Aeromax. Well IMO it is one of the best looking cars of recent times. The noise from any of them is amazing. Closest thing to a WWII fighter aurally.

Purchase #1 when the lottery numbers come up, are there many 20-something owners?! The missus hates them with a passion, and I can sort of understand why.

Since selling my AC Cobra Replica (Crendon 427SC) I've been missing the V8 rumble. This article has made me sit up and take notice However, I have a few questions for you owners, if that's OK? My old steer was 1100kg and 430bhp (7.0 big block Ford) and had very tall gearing due to the Toploader g'box...85mph in 2nd 160mph was Vmax. 0-60 was an easy 4sec and 100 came up in under 10sec with no issue at all. I want something that will go just as quick, sound mega, and be a little more practical than the Cob. Will the performance, etc, be on par? TIA, C.

mogv8 said: I went to watch the DeWalt car at the 2002 Le Mans as well. I had one of the very early MK1 cars (reg in Jan 02) so was lucky enough to drive down in the 18th registered customer car, which really added to the whole event. The only car I would ever buy again. I picked my Series 1 up from the factory John and drove straight to Le Mans, the roar from those side-pipes meant my next Aero had to have them! We did 15,000 miles in our Series 1 including Route 66, once we'd had the initial issues sorted at the factory it was reliable and we had no major failures and it never let us down. Still own an Aero, our fifth and couldn't recommend them highly enough. Now joined by a three-wheeler, Morgan are one of the only truly bespoke car manufacturers left in the country. P.S. Not that I'm biased mind you!

I'm now on my second S1 Aero. I missed the first one so much.
An absolutely cracking car and I've had no issues with either (so far) my current one only had 1600 miles.
Quite frankly I haven't owned anything that attracts as much positive attention as the Aero.
So all ye guys with your "ugly" comments thankfully are the minority by a long way....though I have never been completely comfortable with the rear end.
Blisteringly fast and comfortable even at 6.2".

Nice idea of a car, but why did they make the headlights look so awkward?

Chilliman said: I parked my Tiv next to one of these at the Spring Duxford show last year (PH East Anglia outing), It was every colour possible and changed with every angle you viewed it from. I've never been sure about those headlights but overall a stunning looking car Sounds like mine. Special one of as I couldn't pick from the 30000 colours on offer. The thing you'll pick up from this thread is that those with an aero tend to stay with them. I'm on my second going from an s2 to an S4 and you'll see that tend repeated amount owners. Admittedly not everyone's cup of tea though and you do find yourself explaining what it is, but it will keep up with most things onto road and will surprise many a so called petrol head. Regarding costs I was originally going to buy a TVR but was put of by the costs of maintenance, both my aeros I'd regard as being cheap fun and my first one I bought had for 2 years and added 20000 miles to it, only to sell for £50 less than I paid. So Boshlys story isn't out of the way. For those of you thinking about it you really know you should, and if youre in any doubt go visit the factory.

I don't get jealous easy, but I am now! The 2 cars I would have top of the list when the numbers come up......! I think the Aero looks spectacular, not pretty, or glamorous, just amazing.

Great read. Would love to own a Morgan when I'm older, this one looks fantastic in the pictures in the article. Proper classy car.

I've always loved the cross-eyed look of these... ...and it pains me to admit it, but if I search my psyche for a good explanation for this phenomenon, I unfailingly come to the conclusion that it is more closely associated with my enthusiasm for breasts than for cross-eyed people

Shame they only build them for PORG's They are lovely. Andy when you say you don't have an Aeromax, did you mean, "yet"

I had a Mk1 in 2005 from new. Cost nothing mechanically except a new battery, superb car and I should never have sold it (thats another story). Sitting so far back in the car, almost over the back wheels took some getting used to. Aside from that it was great. For me the Mk1 is the only one to have.

thewheelman said: Personally i don't think they look good from any angle, & the interior on the one pictured above looks ghastly in my opinion. However, i've always been a fan of the more classic style Morgan. To my eye, it just looks far more subtle & timeless. I used to work in a building/share a carpark with a guy who drove a classic-style Morgan - but it had been modified for racing at some point so sported bigger wheels/lowered suspension and a rollcage (and thus no roof). It was cool as hell - it's possibly the coolest car I've ever seen on a public road - I wish I had a pic, really. p.s. I take it that the Mk1/Mk2 are the Beetle/Mini headlight models?
