No, you tried to conflate two very different cars from very different eras and failed.

It's a bit like saying that today's Porsche 911 is a VW van because the Porsche 924 once shared an engine with one. It's completely nonsensical yet you still try to bluster your way out of it and only succeed in looking like a boorish idiot.

Not really though. Infact not in the slightest, I think the car is boring and mondeo-ish like previous ones.

@ Six Fiend, I refuse to take advice/criticism from the man who previously drove a Daweoo and a Nemo and now drives an X-Type. YAWN.
Said the man in the glass house having selected 3 vehicles only from a long list wink

Obvious troll is obvious?

Anyway, back to the point. Good luck and have fun. Try not to upset too many German marques with your higher speed limiter.

No, I shouldn't think you do believe you come across as a boorish idiot.

Damn other people and their pesky opinions.

At the age of 19 what cars do you expect me to have owned? These are all decent car choices for someone of my age(one of them being given to me by a car dealer as payment for work I had done) If insurance would allow I would be driving less boring cars, I bought these cars out of circumstance, you chose to buy yours smile

Which is complete crap.

X-Type - Halewood, Merseyside

Mondeo - Genk, Belgium
Yes a brief look on Wiki will tell you that, but you are looking at the mk1 Mondeo, try the mk3 Mondeo smile

Infact - Ford CD132 platform which was used to produce both the Mondeo and later the X-Type, apology please?
I'll gladly apologise when you show me this mythical production line that produced the X-Type and Mondeo (any generation), as that's the only thing I've corrected you on.

You'll be waiting a long time tumbleweed

Aaaaaarrrrgh!!!!

FFS! That's just a platform (think chasis), that the X-Type and old Mondeo barely shared, less than 20% iirc.

THEY WERE NEVER PRODUCED ON THE SAME PRODUCTION LINE OR EVEN THE SAME COUNTRY!

Apologies accepted.

Yes, it is pretty boring. Quick question though, how did you find the performance of the jag when compared to the beast under the bonnet of your diesel fiesta?

To be fair to him, its not a bad troll for a 19yo.

I was better, but still, its not a bad effort.

I never said my fez was any better??
But mine wins on economy.
Im fortunate enough through my job to have driven a lot of nice cars, you get into a Porsche, Aston, Bentley etc and it is instantly apparent you are in an incredible machine, get into a Jag and its plasticy and poorly built. But what do I know?

Where 90% of the interior surfaces are either leather or wood......riiiiiiiiight.

I'm lucky enough in my job to spend extended periods of time driving plenty of 'luxury' cars like the ones you mention. I take it you've been in a Mk2 Cayenne with the carryover interior from the Toureg.....or the new Aston Virage that still has the indicator stalks out of a Ford Focus and window switches from a Volvo S60?
