Great Cars! I run this in the UAE so fuel and MPG isnt an issue. The 4.6 V8 is stellar and was later adopted by BMW as a main stream offering and fitted in the x5.

Mine was de-striped and debadged from new and driving gloves are definitely not used. The local AXA insure it as a BMW 540 so its cheap and i can still embarass some serious metal!

Quite agree, dont know what I would bin first, I have a 540iA touring and it is a very understated performer, not sure about the cost hike to a B10 for a bit more ease to lose licence. Car yes, stripes NO very 1980s, gloves no, I thought only welders wear gloves now.
And Customs workers at the airport eek

I'm not 100% sure about the stripes after seeing the car in the flesh, can't decide if I would prefer it with or without them.

I love the rest of it however. Massive levels of want.

Spotted the front brakes as we left yesterday are they standard?

hand stitched gear change buttons are probably the best thing I've seen all year

I had a B10 V8 for 8 years, hence my user name smile
Eats Autobahns for breakfast, over 8 years I averaged 25 mpg.
Only problems I had were normal 540 issues, radiator and top hose, used no oil at all.
Should have kept it as it was such a good car banghead

Have the Brembo front brakes from the V8s been fitted, or has someone just painted the calipers blue ?
Looks like orient blue, that colour goes well with the stripes.

Enjoy cool

Thanks to everyone for all the comments.
I have to say, the car is just an epic thing to own, definitely one of my best purchases.

The driving gloves are something of a running joke, so they had to make it in somewhere. hehe

I need some, may you recommend a purveyor for such gentlemans hand wear?

Also, having seen the car in question, I can confirm its the real deal, from the 4.6 V8, to the 6 piston thermosetting polymer calipers.

Love it. I prefer the looks of the E39 Alpina to the Sport and M5 models. Minus the stripes, don't rate those.

Had my B10V8 for ten years now and up to 150k miles and it still runs sweet as a nut, can't find anything to better it. It can be whatever you want it to be docile and a pleasure around town or a real beast using the switchtronic buttons when you get the chance. Sure you will continue to enjoy it.
