Wonder if they'll be chucking these out at £399+vat a month like the 5GT, 6 and 7 series within a year?

I like it [/BMW fanboi]

I suspect the photos don't really do it justice. The last crop of 5ers and 6ers look a lot better in the metal imo.

Nice to see a return to the driver-centric dash. smile

Probably a sparingly-specced 5. Just. If you're talking VFM the 6GC is on tough ground, because it's hard to put an objective value on something as intangible as a 'luxury' feel...
See where you're coming from but, at 39k for 535iSE & 61k for the 640iSE, I find the price difference difficult to justify on paper anyway.

The 6 series coupe is a nice looking motor.

This just smacks of:

Also, I'm not sure my gran would want one, having died in 1987 and all.

I saw one a few weeks ago on the Autobahn. It was a white "Werkstestwagen", one of their test mules. No BMW signs on it but otherwise uncarmuflaged.
Looked awesome, nice proportions. Best to describe it is a better, more elegant looking 5 series.

Looks great IMHO but I notice this is the second time I have seen BMW use the satin/matt paint finish on a demo/PR vehicle - last was 2 weeks ago at Hockenheim on the 550Xd - did look very nice though and there was a chap polishing it which I thought ironic...maybe he didnt know it was supposed to be like thatbiggrin

Probably the best looking car that BMW currently produce, to my eye, but I can't help but feel that the 5-series should have looked something like this in the first place.

I would suggest spec savers or more likely, therapy.

Why of all the colours they could have chosen does it appear to be in Matte Brown paint? confused

Another foul car that proves that money really can't buy taste. Then again, it would fit in with the new Bentley 4x4 in some peoples garages!
sums it all up really.

So which of their "beautiful" offerings would you say is better looking?

The colour schemes here really aren't doing it any favours

That - for me - just reeks of Interbrew style marketing stness: Stella Artois - Reassuringly Expensive, despite it tasting no different to any other "premium" lager.

This 6GC shares much of its technological architecture with the 5 Series, so why not amend the the 5 Series into a "coupe" like Mercedes did with the CLS? [tinfoil]Ah, but then they couldn't charge a premium price like they could if it was based on the more expensive 6 Series[/tinfoil].

Deliberately, reassuringly expensive.

Even if I cared not for the perceived marketing cynicism, the I Don't Want is strong with this one.

I like it. Like the two-door coupé more though, especially the M6... But still not sure about naming it after an elderly female relative!

Blimey, it's not a looker. I wish I could get that tech somehow inserted into the body of an 8-Series

That's something of a theme for BMW - they don't seem to have managed to design a decent looking light cluster in at least ten years.
