J4CKO said: So, the bike was incidental, nothing to do with cyclists and everything to do with the friction between pro and anti hunt people. Indeed, a fact that was discovered on this thread at 1000h this morning. But don't let that get in the way of another pointless anti-cyclist thread.

s2ooz said: since the whole thread doesnt seem to have the FACTS lets spell them out before we go any further.
He is blocking the road intentionally. He is a hunt supporter, presumably in the pay of the hunt. The cars filming and lady were anti hunt (saboteurs action group type thing)
They film hunts and try to catch them hunting REAL foxes (its illegal, fact)
The cyclist was stopping them getting passed so they couldn't interfere with the hunters going about their pleasures or possibly be seen chasing actual foxes. Nice to see an informed comment - that's far more than the Daily Mail could muster. My views on cycling on country roads are therefore a bit moot, but for what it's worth [had he been a regular cyclist, not just someone trying to wind up the saboteurs] I think the centre of the road is generally a good idea on anything that's too narrow for people to overtake easily. That's to stop people trying a kamikaze overtaking manoeuvres. Beyond that, I think it's the cyclist's responsibility to find a safe place to let people by (as it would be for a tractor or milk float travelling equally slowly).

I cant pick a side, Dont really have much in common with a load of blokes dressed like Circus Ringmasters poncing round on horseback blowing horns and setting a pack of Beagles on a Fox, I dont even think they are even the proper toffs these days, usually just horsey people doing a bit of social climbing. I can sort of see the point of the anti's as its all a bit horrid setting a pack of Dogs onto a Fox but meh, a Fox doesnt show a chcicken much mercy, but generally they are the same stinky crusties with F all better to do that cause trouble at any peaceful protest in London, sort of idealistic, nihlistic "thinkers" that usually live on benefits and come from fairly well to do backgrounds, think we have a lot of more worth human and animal rights issues to fight than the death of the occasional bin raiding predator at the hands of some hopelessley out of touch pseudo toffs, and remember these animals are ginger so no great loss. There is a fox that comes down our road and has a full and frank discussion with the local cats on occasion, usually at 2am, sounds a bit like a cross between a murder and a Conversational Chinese Language tape, I did worry about the foxes with the advent of the wheelie bin as their main food source, the traditional (easily knocked over) black bin and the hastily tied overspill bin bag next to it had dissapeared, they dont have the height or strength to tip over a wheelie bin so no dinner there for Mr Fox. So not much sympathy there either. I mainly sympathise with the Beagles, as a Dog the pack hound gets a s t deal, they arent pets and dont get any fuss made, get meagre rations, and stuck in a pen with 30 odd other Beagles and they dont get any fags to smoke, when they do get some nice meat they have to share it with their mates, they only get out a few times a year and invariably it will be a drag hunt which means no actually Fox Dissasembley which when that is your main job in life, it must be pretty dissapointing.

If they used Beagles to hunt foxes I reckon Mr Fox would be quite happy!

Get some perspective, being held up is not an excuse for violence. You don't want violence? Don't provoke it. Simples. I think you're talking s t. Does that mean I can punch you?
