I think it's a reasonable request in the circumstances. If he's prepared to join in with a thread like this - a thread about a KGC10 after all - and mention that he owns one that he says he imported in February this year, then surely it would be of useful to the people who are interested in locating, buying and importing one themselves?

Do you get the impression i like them?
I got a good example for not silly money. I often wonder where people get their "facts" from when quoting such things. No offence intended, but you can buy a well cared for example for less money than you think, it wont be a concours car, but in my case i wanted a car to drive, not a garage queen to just look good.
...makes me think that he needs to elaborate. What exactly did he buy for "...less money than you think..."? How much credence can you give his advice / opinion if you don't know what he's bought? You can pick up a bog-standard, roadworthy but scruffy stock KGC10 for about 1 to 1.5 million JPY, but it won't be anything like the car that's the subject of this thread.

You can ask me anything you like about my own cars, and I'll do my very best to answer, to be of help, and to offer some advice should you wish to source something similar. What's the big secret?

If the guy is just laying an elobarate Gulzar-style elephant trap, then I'm looking forward to the punchline. I'd be only too happy to see another C10 or C110-series Skyline in the UK, and so would many other I'm sure. So why all the talk, but no pics, specs or back story? A peep at his 'About Me' page on his PH profile might be a clue. It's a little odd, to say the least. Looks like I'm not the first to question what it is he actually says he owns...

+1, I think we'd all appreciate some good quality pics and some information of his day to day driving of his C10 skyline. yes

I gotta be honest I dont really care if he has one or not, because regardless of outcome ill still be driving a stty yellow citroen!!thumbup

Only thing I thought was, if you are going to lie about owning a car surely you'd pick something better than a 40 year old nissan?? and i dont mean disrespect to the old skyline its a definate dream car.

Judging by your 'About Me' page, I think it's you that's got a few problems, 'big' fella.

thewheelman said:
Why exactly would i just post pics of my Hako?
First reason might - hopefully - have been that you were happy with it, proud of it, and wanted to share your experiences of looking for it, purchasing it, importing it and actually owning it. How's that for starters? You don't seem to be shy of mentioning it in your posts on Pistonheads, so what's the hang up about telling us anything more concrete about it, or posting pics?

As I think I've made clear on this thread and others, there's a dearth of C10-series Skylines in the UK ( just four cars, and only two in running / driving condition at this point ), and any new arrival would be of interest to a lot of people ( several on this thread alone ).

thewheelman said:
As far as i recall until this thread i've never once been ask to post pics.

As for spec & colour, i've already mentioned that in the past, so your stalking skills are slipping somewhat. Also mentioned before was that i had the car imported from Japan earlier this year.
I'm not stalking anybody. It's just that Pistonheads has a reputation for keeping people honest, so if you say that you own a certain car you may well be asked to prove it ( do you have a tin of custard handy? ). Shouldn't be a problem really, should it? If you're enthused enough to join in with a thread about these cars, then you should be enthused enough to share your personal experience of them and give some tips / pointers to others who might want to buy one. Even if your experiences were bad they'd give useful feedback that would help others.

thewheelman said:
Not really sure what your problem is, i just hope you get the help you require.
I don't think I have a "problem" as such, and you can give some "help" by posting full details of your car, along with photos and some proof of ownership. It's otherwise known as The Custard Test. You know what to do....
Guessing you're hungry......

Come on fella, he plainly isn't being a troll.

Your car has legendary status, is extremely rare and is highly desirable. It seems it's one of just a handful in the UK. smokin

Naturally enough some PHers are interested. You have encouraged the interest a few times and recieved messages of congrats etc, you posted a picture of a similar car and said it would be "wrong" to not share photos of your own when it arrived in Feb.

It looks like you've not done so. That's entirely up to you of course.

PZR appears to have a detailed interest in these cars so naturally he's more keen and inquisitive than most. wink

1) Post pics/details.
2) Say nothing.
3) Say you don't want to provide pics, or too busy, or whatever.

These are all options. smile

Calling "troll" isn't appropriate and just adds credence to the implications made about the varacity of the car.

Hi everyone

I am the owner of the red Skyline and I wanted to say a big thank you to PistonHeads for posting the video and to Josh Clason for filming the car. As of Saturday it reached 100'000 views!

I should specify that while it was given the GT-R look by its previous owner in Japan (Watanabes, over fenders, front & rear spoilers), the car is a 1970 KGC10 Skyline 2000GT with a bored and stroked L28-based engine fed by triple Mikunis.

It is not a genuine GT-R with the twin cam S20 engine.

If any of you come visit Los Angeles this Summer you'll probably see the car as its out regularly at the different Saturday morning car shows...

I see a couple of you in the comments here have Skylines too! Now that you've seen and heard mine I'd love to see some pics of yours! Fire away!...

Thanks for all the compliments!

Hi Eric,
Good to see you here on PH. Thanks for joining up. I think your JNC forum thread is a great read, very heartwarming and also very informative. Anybody who wants to buy a C10-series Skyline would be well advised to read it.

Of course you know my car, but here's a pic for anyone who doesn't:

Cheers,
Alan T.

It's a late 1971 production KPGC10 'Skyline 2000 GT-R', which left the factory as a standard production road car but gradually became a club racer / track day car in the Kyoto area. It used to do a lot of club events at Fuji Speedway in the 70s. After a long layup ( sitting in an underground car park ) it was refurbed / restored in 2004/5. It took part in the 2005 NISMO Festival at Fuji Speedway, then the 2006 'Time Machine Festival' ( also at Fui Speedway )where it was driven by Kunimitsu Takahashi, and I brought it over to the UK in mid 2006.

Full spec list would end up being quite long! There are a lot of period Nissan 'Sports Option' and race option parts on it, and it's fairly stripped out. Is there anything in particular you want to know? I could bore you for hours about it...!

So much hate...

I've been talking to Alan for years and have seen the level of detail to which he's built his Z and Skyline and let me tell you they are perfect in every way. The red car's got a long way to go to get to that level if it ever does and then it will still only be a base model 2000GT... Lol

Come out to SoCal and we can arrange a ride along so that your hate turns to Skyline Love!
