If I am ever crossing a big junction I always check after the lights are green for such instances. :S

An utter tool. Sorry but no possible excuse for that.

Murder, effectively.

Desperately sad for the innocent parties.

Bloody hell - that's terrible. I'm surprised we don't have more crashes due to red light runners in the UK. I don't think a day goes by when I don't see someone run a red.

Good job the driver died, as morally, it was nothing other than premeditated murder.

Possibly thought he was going to beat the cars setting off from green? I've seen cars go through crossroads near my house at 100+ when the lights have been red for 3-4seconds before. It also happens in Beeston quite often if anybody knows they place, two people get racing and don't stop for reds at all.

A 599 GTB can hit 120 in what 10/11 seconds from standstill, so at say 50 mph you plant your foot and six or so seconds later you are doing 120, so easy to pile on speed inthe blink of an eye, in the wrong hands, in the wrong place totally lethal. Usually the driver survives in these cases as the cars are so well built but not this one, dont like to say it is good that anyone dies but really if he was a decent bloke being acreatin it would aunt him forever and if he was one of those types that get away with it and barely think of it, then he did deserve it.

I think he pulls over outside of the box junction.

Sounds as though the throttle is wide open just before he hits...

There is video footage of the impact on another thread on the Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini & Bugatti forum - cannot post the link as I still cannot work out how to do it.

The footage is not for the faint hearted. It is an awful impact & clearly shows that the GTO driver ran a red light.

What a terrible waste of life. The Ferrari driver was a total moron - that particular road has crossroads every few meters (as do most roads in Singapore tbh). RIP to the innocent parties who were killed by the guy with more money then sense.

I can't help that think that it's moderately surprising that the driver was killed given that the passenger survived when the biggest hit would have been on the right and it's LHD. The car looked pretty well intact actually too.
