Hi all

I have 5k to spend on a new car and am torn between the clio trophy and the dc2. I have had 205 for the last year and would like something with power steering and something that is a little more comfy. Has any driven the two? I also have been looking at v6 Alfa's smile

Hope you can shed your opinions

DC2 is a great car, a good one drives fantastically well. You do have to a bit of a hooligan though.

I was considering theses among others but I've decide on the clio trophy for next year, I've only heard good things about it and they will hold their value really well compared to a DC2. Also the clio is much mor usable on the road.

I think this is more down to personal preference. Drive both.

If hondas notorious reputation for reliability extends to that of the integra, then I'd go for that. much cooler/rarer car too.

How many integras are there? There's only 500 trophys.

Only about 1,000 - 1,200 out there according to "how many left", assuming there are about 500-700 DC5s.

If you buy a Trophy, check the dampers very carefully. They are vey expensive. Check out Evo's long termer. This is a very hard one. Both are exceptional cars.

You won;t be disappointed by either, just do your research

Interesting, how is that then?

FWIW, I'd take the DC2, but OP is going to have to try and get at least a ride in both - probably not easy to get test drives of either of these cars.

Yeah, how? I used my DC2 everyday on the road and it was fine! It was actually a really nice place to be.

Surely things like overtaking, without having to hit vtec and those types of situations?

Both great, Clio would be more comfortable.

But if you’re coming from a 205 the Honda will still seem refined.

Very, very, reliable if brought right (My UK spec never broke down in four year of ownership or had major problems), Standard JDM ones are great, avoid the ones without proof of regular oil changes they need the oil changing every 5000. They also only run on super unleaded (98 Ron plus) where the Clio runs fine on normal unleaded.

Had mine from 80k to 120k, 15k of that was in Germany travelling from ffm to Munich every weekend at silly speeds. It never skipped a beat and there is just no way I would have wanted to do the same journey in a clio to be honest.
