Harris, great video as per usual.
Favourite motoring journo at present.
Those PDK Turbo S's are insane when fettled by DMS, hit 207mph on clocks at Vmax in one last year.
I think the GTR has lost its unique selling point with the price gradually rising. It may well Be very good but Jesus they're getting pricey.....
Keep em cheap Nissan, rival the the M3 for price easily and you'll sell a shed load.

Dear Mr Chris,
Regarding pricing - agreed, the track pack is overpriced but - please remember that when the GT-R was launched V.A.T. was only 15% and the £52K ish price point was for a Premium Edition ( read base model ) without sat-nav...

It's the quickest car you can buy for the money. It's handling is incredible, the gearbox is incredible - the car just doesn't have any rivals IMO. How can a car you have never driven (I am assuming based on your comment) leave you cold? I have owned a couple of Ferrari's, M3's and Porchses - the Nissan is the best car I have ever owned and I have had it 3 years now Chris Harris even said those that think the GTR is too clinical just haven't driven one properly.

the evolution of the GTR price since launch has a lot to do with the exchange rate of the British Pound versus the Japanese Yen. In early 2008 £1 bought you 210 odd Yen. Today it buys you just 127. That's 40% less, and about the same as the increase from the original £52k for the base model.

Except they first arrived in April 2009 and at the time Nissan still claimed to be making money on them despite the exchange rate being 140. I find it pretty inexcusable and a real shame. It still a lot of car for the money and if they had priced it at 65k from the outset there would seem nothing wrong with its current price tag. BUt to increase it the way they have after acknowledging they could afford to put it out at 53k seems like nothing more than a piss-take to me.

If you compared it to anything of a similar price, then it just completely embarrass it in handling and speed comparisons. Who'd have thought you could go from 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, in a car that costs less than £90k????
