You must have got through some tyres driving like that!!

I think if I tried drifting on corners like that, I'd get through a large amount of Elises, let alone tyres!!

I've decided I might move on to an Elise, the S1 Sport 135 is the one I'm after. I want to do trackdays and as much as I love my Elan it's not the most perfect trackday tool.

I have a serious question, I'm 6' 7" with a 38" inside leg and I've done lots of searches on the various Lotus forums but can't find a definitive answer, I know it will be a squeeze but will I actually fit in one? I've heard there are a particular type of Elise seat that allow a bit more room as they have minimal padding. Any owners in the Brighton area willing to let me sit in theirs? (I may not be able to get out again). I'll take you for a blat in the Elan in return!

Well known? By who? Is this just your personal opinion and you are assuming that everyone must agree with it? Otherwise please state your evidence for this. I think evo write some of the most impartial, unbiased reviews out there, they repeatedly praise the Porsche 911s even though they get loads of stick over it, and they absolutely slated the MK1 Focus RS and the recent Subaru BRZ despite EVERY other magazine heaping praise on them.

I think you might be sore because you drive a Mitsubishi GTO/Toyota MR2 which they refuse to even put in The Knowledge? Am I right?

Edit: Oh dear, I just looked at your profile (something I've never done before). An M100, no wonder! Got caned in the front drivers article. Don't worry it's still a great car, no vindication needed!

Unlikely to be remotely comfortable, to be honest. I've only a 34" leg and I have the seat back as far as it'll go already. You're welcome to come try it out if you're ever near London's Clapham Junction.

Danny, you seriously need to have that car set up properly. I have ragged Abbeville hard a number of times and you are losing grip at much slower speeds and in places you should not be losing grip.

Decent dampers, decent tyres at sensible pressures and a geo is on the menu for you Dude.

I agree, mostly. Can spend hours trawling through youtube and magazine websites looking at car reviews for cars i am about to buy or have just bought. But often there is a lack of info and detail on the web, having said that owners forums are usually the best bet for posting pdfs of old mag articles.

I would never go out any buy any car based on one magazines 5 star review. In fact clio rs' dont hold much appeal to me for this reason, brilliant i am sure. But i am the kind of buyer who would prefer the to buy the oddball and more interesting/ less well known cars and to hell what an journo makes of it as long as i like the way it drives.

Not that i dont value journos opinions, just prefer to make my own mind up if seriously interested.

You do realise i was trying to provoke it/get it to lose grip? Just checking...
