Most manly car?
Discussion
I agree with what you've said. However I think it's more than just function and how it is to drive but styling is definately a factor also.
My 993 turbo is a powerful machine for sure, but I don't see it as all that manly- it's styling is beautiful but not brutal, it's polished, its 4WD and refined without rough around the edges.
My 1970 Challenger is definately a mans car as is my E24 M635 CSi.
I think square jawed styling helps- especially cars with shark noses rather than swoopy curves.
However the rules don't always hold for instance: - Z3 M coupe- bare bones and manly but the Bangle kak that followed is limp wristed from a styling point of view and the flame surfaces are more RCA than testosterone.
The Jag X308 XJR is quite manly however it is very refined and has driver aids etc, but it's RWD with a V8 and the styling is definately aerodynamic.
new Dodge Charger is definately a mans car.
