(not that I'm buying mind you)

Leave the price behind for a second I think as a keeper it could have some merit, my only worry would the eye-watering costs of some Ferrari parts!

As for the price you'd like to think its perhaps possible to barter down to 35k (though reading the advert he perhaps doesn't quite come accross as the type who loves a good haggle!) but even still it's really only 10k less than cars with half that mileage on

Simon Furlonger has a tidy looking 550 with half the miles (from memory) for £39k before negotiation.

£38k for that TDF one is way too much IMHO.

It's a well-written but bullsh*tty advert, but the car itself is gorgeous. One of my all-time favorite Ferraris.

Interesting read, and enjoyable, but its bloody expensive for a well used ferrari and I couldn't buy a car from a guy with a double barreled surname.

Playing the guess what it's stickered at game I was at £29K. I still think I'm there or thereabouts.

I rather liked that surname. Makes me want to call him custard smile

That is my favourite ever Ferrari, in what is quite probably the colour scheme I'd have picked from the factory. Would 109k miles put me off buying my favourite Ferrari in my favourite colour combination? Christ no, especially if it is backed up by a sizeable mountain of invoices and paperwork.

What would put me off though is an advert that makes the seller sound like a prize turd and being over price by something like 5 figures...

Especially when this is only 7k more:

If you buy this car and then do 2k miles p/a you will end up with a typical underused Ferrari, with all the usual niggly faults, thereby wasting the premium you paid for a sorted car. If you're going to use it as a daily driver then it might be a good buy, if you want a garage queen you can buy one for a lot less. When compared to a new £40K executive car, depreciation is going to be similar or even less over 3 years. Could you get a warranty on this car?

its nice but there are other cars I would rather spend £40k on and all that waffle about mileage would put me off. its not that cheap and dealers like KHPC and Foskers are similarly priced.

Dream car, dreamer seller.

What would trade offer on that, I dont think we'd be talking much more than 25k despite its loveliness.

Price seems on the high side - the blurb in the ad would put me off buying more though!

I always wonder why people would do something like this just before selling a car. Surely you won't get £15k more for it after the respray, than you would with original paint (unless it was in a really bad state)? scratchchin

A few people are saying it's over-priced, well what would be the right price for this at that mileage?

I can't imagine a Ferrari dealer giving a lot of money trade either!

I would think about buying it but only at the right price, but not being down with Ferrari values i have no idea what that would be!

as said i bet it's true value is around £25k so if he were to get £30k it'd be happy days all round smile

''a Police trained Class 1 advanced driver'' what relevance does this have to the price of rice in china?
At least we know it'll have been driven quickly then! Though I've never known a traffic cop who was not fanatical about looking after his car. Who knows if he is/was a police driver though.

Still, the advert is well written and I love the 550/575M. My favourite Ferraris, easily. It seems very expensive, but then the miles wouldn't concern me unduly.
i find this a plus, it should have been treated with mechanical sympathy

I would. One of the best looking Ferraris IMO smile

I can see where he is coming from regarding the clutch. I've always considered the life of a clutch with normal driving to be around the 100k mark.

I wonder what brought the respray on?

It seems a touch high but it's had enough spent on it, 15k on a recent respray for example.

Would be an ideal car to unearth at auction
