My Land Rover 110 was built the same year I was born. (1985) Hopefully it will last as long as me

Love them.
I've had two Series III Landies in my time, one diesel, one petrol (don't even ask about MPG - the only vehicle I've ever driven where you can actually see the fuel gauge going down.)
Always wanted a Lightweight/Air Portable.
One day.

I'm firmly in the lover camp. Been interested in them since I was about 5 or 6 years old.

As an agricultural tool they have to be the best out there. There is no other in the group that could do things better but as a daily driver I could not get excited about them. Nosiy at high revs and just not quick enough to be engaging to drive. Each to their own.

Nice Landy I'm currently on the hunt for tyres for mine now. Going to be expensive, but I've got to refurbish my original wheels first...

We love them here We've done a bit of paintwork since the picture but they both need a bit of TLC at some point, I think the red one was repainted as an imitation County, from it's original blue.

Is it a 24V Bluethunder with it being fitted for coms? I loved mine, in particular the switch on the dash that switched from normal lighting to infra-red for use with NVGs. I also liked the user manual which told you how disable it so it didn't fall into enemy hands. 50 cal through engine block was one way Where the hell you were supposed to find an M2 in a hurry was clearly not thought about.

The hardest thing these days is finding suitable tyres for innertubes without resorting to putting tubes in tubeless tyres (naughty). It seems to be a choice between some Avon Rangemasters which are a tad slick if you plan on getting muddy, Chinese Firestone/Super All Traction zigzag pattern copies (great for scaring yourself stupid), or some Michelin XZL/XZY/XYC which are fantastically expensive

Yep the last three LtWts have all been 24 volt FFR including this one which saw service in NI and was fitted with a VPK(Vehicle protection kit) All the 101,s have ben 12 volt.

I LOVE em! My very first car was a 1963 ex mil series 2A ;-)
Right now, i can't decide between getting a 90 i might actually be able to use, or a mint S1 to cherish?
And anyone who says "not quick enough to be entertaining"? WFT, 30mph on knobblies with brakes that can't stop anything but a couple (if you're lucky:-) of the wheels revolving, that is entertaining!
