Taking costs and craftsman ship into consideration, I really want to like/appreciate it, but frankly, I don't. Prefer the lines of the 458 all day long

I can't say I'm actually that impressed to be honest. A perfectly beautiful car before, that looks a little spoilt now.

In my opinion this is the car Ferrari should have built instead of the 458, the 458 does nothing for me I'm afraid, the front looks hideous......

I hope Mr Clapton likes and enjoys the car.

I like it. The front end is much better, the rear looks better proportioned and I think the silver air-flow slahses on the bonnet look great.
As a note to Eric - please drive this. It would be a crying shame to only have this car used every time there's a blue moon.

I like it, I like it more than the 458.

For some reason this reminds me of those sad MR2\Ferrari replica's but with more money involved.
If he loves the 512BB, why not buy one and get a nuts and bolts restore done of that?
Sorry but for £3m I'd want a lot more for my money than a 458 with a crap 512BB bodykit.

Cars like this serve to develop the skills of elite craftsmen and designers. Without this kind of work their skills would erode and we would all be worse off. Whether you like it or not the work is beyond reproach.

I really quite like it. Calling it the SP12, does that mean this is the 12th Special Edition Ferrari have made. I'm aware of a few of them (first one based on a 430 i think went to China, a 599 Superamerica), but can anyone fill in the gaps?

Whilst I applaud anyone who wants to be a bit different and I understand that the rear bumper is probably made of some very expensive composite material and that the different colours are meant to match the original 512 BB I still cant help thinking a bout a base model sierra when they first came out with the black plastic bumpers

Other than the disgusting light grey section of the bonnet it looks okay.

Just posting this so that people know what the original 512BB looks like.

Beautiful! Almost perfection, & i'm not generally a fan of modern Ferraris or retro styling. If you don't like it, you need to give your head a wobble Still, i'd rather have this....

Fantastic creation, better looking than anything they've made for a while imo. Actually looks like a ferrari..

If I was shelling out 3 million quid on a 512bb homage I'd at least want it to have the right number of cylinders. It's a 458 with a fairly ugly, to me at least, bodykit. Madness.

Nicholas Blair said: Nor me, what's the point of this....? Living legend realises bespoke (tasteful) Ferrari - what's not to like ?

I have heard from a reliable source, who has an in at Ferrari, that Eric does not like V8's and requested a V12 which they have put in this car only for him but are keeping quiet about it.
