It is a lovely shape but I find the mess of random colour panels to be very harsh on the eye. Not bad overall, but a waste of money to me. I'd far rather have a fleet of Zondas for the same price.

No way that cost £3m.
If it did you'd think they would have finished all the body panels in red.

I really quite like it. Calling it the SP12, does that mean this is the 12th Special Edition Ferrari have made. I'm aware of a few of them (first one based on a 430 i think went to China, a 599 Superamerica), but can anyone fill in the gaps?

A reference to the alleged number of cylinders perhaps?

Of course it should have been called SP8.

Mind you even Mercedes badge their cars incorrectly these days. I'm not sure their marketing boys have even read a spec sheet on their own car engines.

If I had all the normal Ferraris I needed and had the opportunity to have a special one as well I'd just buy an FXX Evoluzione and make it street legal.

Seems perfect to me - looks like a 512BB (a truly beautiful, pin-up Ferrari that unfortunately drives like a bit of a truck) and goes like a 458. If I had ol' slow hand's wealth, I may well have done this too.

That's the point, it doesn't though does it. It looks like a 512BB in the same way that an MR2 with a bodykit looks like a Ferrari. Sorry but tacky in the extreme IMO and for £3m, someone is having a proper laugh. Fools and their money.

I could instantly tell Leonardo Fioravanti had nothing to do with the design of that car.

Donato Coco may have certainally knocked it up in his lunchbreak at Lotus though as a favour to his old employer.

If I was Eric, I would set fire to it and claim the insurance money.

Thank fk you're not Eric then. This goes to show that Canadians are as stupid as Americans.

I think I've spotted that fuel cover under the bonnet, behind the NS pop up headlamp of a 456GT in the classfieds.

Brilliant car.

How nice must it be to get a custom made by the factory Ferrari? I wish I was a multimillionaire.

They might get chevy to make a unique modern take on the '64 Impala. Sounds good to me!

I wasn't thinking of that, sounds good to me as well. I love modern rods, like the Holden efijy a while back.

Just two points:

1) The 458's V8 puts out some 210 hp more than the most powerful 512 BB ever did (570 vs 360 metric hp).

1) Eric can afford it, so he bought it. He doesn't care if someone who writes comments on PH and drives a 1987 Peugeot 205 Diesel
doesn't like it.
