It's a sad day when a mass-producing mainstream manufacturer's design department headed by Chris Bangle....can do better than a small handbuild-coachbuilder from Italy...

Design houses like Zagato are there to sculpt and do things in limited numbers no-one else would dare....not churn out photcopies of previous work! what a wasted opportunity...like the last few years of Zagato's work....

I didn't think it was possible to make that particular BMW any uglier but evidently I was wrong.
what particular BMW would that be? it's not based on another model confused

if you think the current Z4 is ugly, you're probably in a minority. i'll admit a lot of their current line up is (especially X6 or new 1 series!) but the Z4 just isn't.

I liked the original Z4 but equally detest the new Z4. It looks fat and lardy and they all seem to have this incredibly wide "face" at the front that is simply anathema to anything sporty. The gross flatulence of the original finely crafted slimline kidneys hasn't helped at all and being silver, simply contrives to make them look more like Rover grilles. I now look at them as the "new Rover".

I'm not anti-BMW though may sometimes sound it, I am just gobsmacked at their current design direction and in common with others, if you don't like the basic "family face", you're not going to like any of them. So it goes.

A real pity, as the original was a beauty.....
Holy hell thats even worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You think the 507 is ugly????
I think it is mentally impossible to think a car with those proportions is ugly. He has to be on a wind up!
Encourage him, maybe thinking the 507 is ugly will go viral, and all the collector-speculators will be rushing to sell at knock down prices. (I'll be waiting).

I am the first to criticize the Bangle creations and consider the GT as an unquantifiable paragon of Maxiness, but the 507 IMHO is one of the most beautiful and desirable creations ever penned by von Gortz, (the 503 was not too shabby either and always reminds me of the Facel for some reason).

It's a BMW, therefore everyone will call it ugly.

Like it! Not the best BMW I have ever seen but definitely the best Zagato.
