RE: Spotted: Subaru Impreza R205
Discussion
Sorry it's just Jugger's sellers bias is just cringe worthy and also potentially misleading for any buyer (though u can't see too many people rushing out to spend 40k in a recession on a second hand hatchback.)
I stand by everything I said, the brakes ARE less powerful, the engine even with your claimed 400bhp is putting out a lot less power and torque (and is nowhere near as tuneable), the gearbox is not capable of putting in changes anywhere near as quick as the GTR, the suspension is a cheaper variant and the chassis from a family shopping car is not as good as that from a car which is widely considered a game changer. Yes they've stripped out and added things to the impreza to make it one of the most capable rally reps out of the box (the standard 320bhp is a bit week by modern standards but still) but its a league or two below the GTR in performance never mind the fact the GTR is generally a much nicer car. Simple facts Juggers.
But go on prove me wrong - lets see some evidence the Subaru is quicker round track and whilst you're at it (as your adverts crap) some evidence that it's making 400bhp.
Cheers

Oh and do read up properly Juggers, tommi maks car was far removed from a standard Sti and had a number of parts off the r205 - it was no production car.

I can see this thread descending into a slanging match, which would be a shame.
We have an owner justifying a position, which a lot of (misinformed?) people seems to disagree with. This is not ideal.
Cant we all just get along?
No, we have a misguided seller atttempting to justify a huge asking price against a tide of people saying 'yeah ,it's a nice enough car butt HOW MUCH?!'We have an owner justifying a position, which a lot of (misinformed?) people seems to disagree with. This is not ideal.

I suspect he will be the owner for a while longer until he takes a reality check. Plus, he hasn't exactly acquitted himself as someone I'd want to do business with.

It's not " sellers bias" it's "talking from experience" which is something you don't have in either cars buy the sounds of it.I stand by everything I said, the brakes ARE less powerful, the engine even with your claimed 400bhp is putting out a lot less power and torque (and is nowhere near as tuneable), the gearbox is not capable of putting in changes anywhere near as quick as the GTR, the suspension is a cheaper variant and the chassis from a family shopping car is not as good as that from a car which is widely considered a game changer. It's quite laughable the brakes are less powerfull you really don't have a clue do you.
As you love using google for media proofs here's one for your braking argument do bare in mind the sti has the standard 4 pot brakes in this test the same as the evo's.

You don't have a clue about this car it's pedigree and what's capable of simple as you never will until you drive one.
PS i have nothing to prove to you, as I actually have the motor and driven it why don't you prove to me it's a lesser car as you claim to know all the facts and what my car is capable of somehow ?

Misguided seller trying to attempt to justify the asking price.......please don't make me laugh. the price is justified by it's performance and rarity theres nothing you or I can say to change that. I suspect he will be the owner for a while longer until he takes a reality check. Plus, he hasn't exactly acquitted himself as someone I'd want to do business with.
Given that's you have just bought a bog standard WRX for £2-£3k I seriously doubt we'd be doing business anytime soon.
I can understand a lot of these comments tend to come from people who will never be in a position to buy such a motor, I used to be of the same attitude when I couldn't afford anything more than £10k........quite bitter.........but then I grew up.
I am a great fan of constructive criticism and many people on this thread who would not buy this car have put there points across respectively......what I don't get is someone telling me my own experiences were false and inadvertently I am chatting sh't"

Juggers you're selling a car on the premise that's it's 400bhp and it's quicker round a track than a GTR. We have seen no evidence for either. Your ad doesn't even list the mods. There's plenty of track times times out there but I can't find a single one to show that the r205 is even remotely comparable on any track to the GTR. So, because you want to come across as a good seller, rather than an arrogant deceitful ass lets have some proof that a) your car is putting out the claimed 400bhp b) it's as quick round a track as a GTR (any track you like) and while you're at it c) you've actually owned a GTR.
Thanks
And btw I'm not bitter or jealous, my car - which is irelevant to this thread since im not trying to sell it- cost more than 10k came with more power than the r205 as standard, doesnt look like a Korean shopping trolley, is capable of track times far closer to a special edition impreza than one of those is to a GTR but ultimately I wouldn't have spent 40k on it. So need to get personal chap
Thanks

And "Juggers" sparkling personality and delusion shines again! Keep going this is funny!
I can understand a seller trying to back up the asking price but realistically it's no where near as good as a GTR round a track- I mention the GTR as you made this claim very early on in this thread when the sales pitch came out.
The GTR you claimed to own, was this just passing through your company or actually your own?
More inflated prices like the spec c's on your site for 23k, werent they 18k a year ago?
Anyway good luck with the sale..........

In terms of Evidence I am not going out of my way to prove to you what's what with the car and what I have owned......sorry who are you again?
Any genuine interested party will be provided with the information required simples. I can easily copy and paste a link from a well known Subaru forum with the graph's and a link from my photo bucket showing a few of the cars I've owned, but again...........who are you?
For those who know me on the forums including the MLR (which I would imagine your a member of) know me and know the Evo's I have had and the cars I have owned.
It's funny how you think your 9 is quicker and better and faster and handles better...........I feel as tho am in a school playground.
PS I wasn't being personal sorry if I caused offence.
As for you GTRCOOK your of the impression the R34 is better than the R35 you have no room to talk. If you've got nothing constructive to say please go troll else where you bender.

If you were as much of an enthusiast as you claim to be you'd know that my car is not 'bog standard' and neither are they available for '£2k-£3k'.
It seems you don't know value when you see it, and you've had a great stab at ruining possibly the best advert anyone could hope for when selling a rare car. So go you! Most expensive does not equal best.
You're right, I don't have £40k to spend on a car being alowly public servant rather than a powerfulyl built company director such as yourself, but you can bet your bottom dollar if I did I wouldn't be touching your car with it!
