He He - GTR owners getting all uperty!
we all bow down to your far superior machinery... unfortunately very heavy machinery all be it techno heavy and well powered. I've never driven one to be honest nor do i have any desire too.
I can see the attraction of the GTR and R205 - but for me the little hatch would win every time. its way more nimble and you dont look like a 'manta/capri man' - sorry guys big coupes need hairy chests, streaked hair and shiny white teeth
I'm from a rally background and have had all sorts of machinery - gtr is too big too heavy and too brash. been there before with my old HSV 1700kg 530bhp 500lb/ft (quick oversteery thing but too heavy IMHO)
£40k for a hatch... when you look at the price of a standard uk hatch it isnt much more when you add up all the bits - rare too (i see at least 4 GTR's on my way to work every day)
only issue id have is that the spec c is nearly as fast and is nearly as rare on these shores.
id have either if i didn't have 2 kids to transport around. Unfortunately not silly enough of a car for a weekend toy though.
I've driven the subject car - its very quick but a little too easy to drive to be honest - all depends what you're used to i suppose?
i must admit i'm a little disappointed with all new machinery - over tyred, over assisted lards.
latest offerings of rwd back to basics subaru / toyotas sounded very appealing - shame both missed the point of such vehicles.... my old toy has the same formula - rwd, front engine 4 pot, 50:50 balance, transaxle with inboard disks, 150bhp N/A motor and lsd standard.... but 1100kg and less than £3k and only about 12 left on the road in the uk. As ever power and grip isn't a recipe to fun.
I love all the banter on here about my cars faster than yours reminds me of my childhood arguments of my dads cars faster than your dads feel free to post your 'ring times - not race drivers time to be honest who cares? how fast does it feel and how much fun is it matters more to me.
Good luck with the sale Immy - great performance car for people who dont want to stand out too much from the crowd

Never thought I'd say this, but the hatchback Impreza's are really growing on me finally.
Same, I think it is quite a handsome beast compared to the earlier models. I've always favoured hatches and estates anyway, and found some of the booted ones brutally ugly, especially the 'bug-eye' generation. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
