if i ever had 40k to spend on a car it wouldnt be one that looked like a lego model. no matter how fast it was.
I wasn't aware that Lego could create such varied curves from its brick range. They've really come a long way eh?it was a joke, but I love how quick people are to have a moan at someone elses opinion.
I'm not usually a fan of the hatchback Imprezas but I saw this car at Oulton Park (MLR Sprint Series) a few weeks ago and it looked brilliant. It looked distinctive over a normal STI and I actually said to my mate straight away, 'that's one of those R205s'. I didn't realise it's the only one in the country.
It is a lot of money but then it's a very limited run, extremely rare version of an already expensive Subaru, and it's practically brand new - 1 year old and only 5,000 miles! It's a specialist car for a niche market and I appreciate it as that.

Having owned plenty of impreza's and Evo's including 9 gt's X rs's with 400bhp, R8,997 turbo and nissan GTR none offer the performance and buzz factor not to mention practicality this car does.!!
It can go around a track just as quick as a GTR cost's a fraction of the price for tyres servicing etc no brainer to be honest.
Ok, for arguments sake lets say this car is brilliant. It can go around a track just as quick as a GTR cost's a fraction of the price for tyres servicing etc no brainer to be honest.
Why hasn't it sold since it arrived in the UK? I remember it coming in along with a saloon version which was for a buyer over on the subaru forum iirc. Since then it has been used by yourself, yet the price remains the same. Sure, the yen is stronger now and the market for such cars fluctuates. But that doesn't really explain why there isn't a buyer out there. Considering its brilliance, I'd imagine there'd be more than a few people interested.
Personally I think Subaru/JDM fans are suffering from Impreza fatigue and aren't that bothered anymore with the myriad of special editions that seem to be churned out every 6 months. Each one touted as being more focused and brutal than the version before. It all gets a little yawn inducing. Unfortunately that lethargy has spread and as a result genuine buyers feign interest in such cars.

Again, what a stupid thing to say.in the same way the GTR is not up to 75k+ asking price a scooby is not upto 40k imo

not at all, its a white goods car that will in many countries be uses as a mini cab, which just so happens to have very fast oily bits

In the same way? You've contradicted yourself there, the GTR is not a white goods vehicle. There's no base GTR sans oily bits lining up a taxi rank somewhere. Other than that, I agree that these cars are pricing themselves out of their original market.in the same way the GTR is not up to 75k+ asking price a scooby is not upto 40k imo

You've got your facts mixed up this car was not bought in at the same time as the saloon it was bought in a lot earlier than that. Why hasn't it sold since it arrived in the UK? 1) I am in no Rush to sell this car and am quite adamant that I want the money I spent on her which is £40k (i have been offered near the asking price and have tons of e-mails from prospective buyers to back it up including people from Italy, Germany, Ireland and Malaysia.)
2) Not many people know what an R205 is
3) 40K is a lot for any car and we are in a recession!!!
4) It's a niche market (the sort of person that will buy this will be a hardcore impreza nut like myself)
Hope that answers all your questions if theres any other information you require please feel free to ask.
